I've been kinda having that gut feeling as well. When I watched the video where he declared his NBA eligibility, it looked like he had little, to no personality. He said "y'know" every other word, and looked down at his piece of paper the whole time. I know that has next to nothing to do with his productivity on the court, but it will affect how he gets along with his teammates, and how he interacts with fans. Here's hoping he does well at rookie media camp.

Re: Foxsports mock draft.
According to the voters he was the best player in college basketball this year. Other than Bargnani everyone available in this years draft played in college this year. So a best case argument for the Morrison haters is Bargnani > Morrison > Everybody else.

Don't get me wrong. I still say draft the 'stache. His personality is the only thing that concerns me.

Not really. The best argument is that sometimes really, really good college players aren't really, really, good NBA players. Other good arguments include that Morrison is older than the other top prospects and is the only clear NBA-bound player on his team (as opposed to UConn, Texas, and other schools that had significantly more talent).

The best player isn't always taken first, no matter who's drafting or who's picked. Morrison could be taken #1, and I'm not sure he's the best player in the draft. Thats an unknow right now, depending on a plethora of things.

Who said or implied that whoever is taken #1 is the best player? I think everyone here know that picking 1st doesn't mean you'll end up with the best player.

The voters weren't NBA scouts or GMs. A college achievement award is not the same as being the best pro prospect.
Also, while Morrison won NCAA Player of the Year, Redick won the Wooden Award, which is for Most Outstanding Player in the NCAA. How many scouts and GMs do you think feel Redick is the best pro prospect?

What, you mean to tell me Brad Daugherty, Danny Manning, Pervis Ellison, Derrick Coleman, Larry Johnson, Glenn Robinson, Joe Smith, Michael Olowokandi, Kenyon Martin, Kwame Brown, Yao Ming, and Andrew Bogut weren't the best players in their draft's?

Re: Foxsports mock draft.
Morrison was a guest on Fox's Best Damn Sports Show Period the other night. There's video here (link is on lefthand side of page).
Apparently he DOES have a personality.

Glad we're on the same page now. I didn't mean that whoever gets pick #1 will be anything more than the highest rated player in the draft by that particular team.
All I know is that I want Portland to select the person that will end up being the best player in the draft, and if that's Morrision, great!

He has plenty of personality and is actually very quick-witted...
He was on Best Damn Sports Show Period on Thursday and here's the link
