Re: Pau Gasol Question...
hm...why does it matter? we're not gonna be able to trade for him, since he's probably, if traded, going to net more than we have to offer the Grizzlies.

Re: Pau Gasol Question...
well i was thinkin about a previous post i read....someone suggested we "nut" up and package some guys we might otherwise not trade and net ourselves an actual star player.....go figure
so i have been goin through the NBA rosters looking for guys that i would like to have in trade possibly including Zach, Telfair, Outlaw, etc (maybe instead of Telfair its Blake or Jack....although Jack would be the last one i would want gone)
my list:
Richard Jefferson
Chris Bosh
Channing Frye
Jermaine O'neal
Andres Nocioni
Michael Redd
Joe Johnson
Carmelo Anthony
Mehmet Okur
Andrei Kirilienko
Kevin Garnett
Jason Richardson
Josh Howard
Pau Gasol
just brainstorming here guys....so

Re: Pau Gasol Question...
The guy on that list that I think is tradeable this offseason is Garnett. Minnesota has proven to the league that when a player has the biggest salary in the league (averaging half the salary cap for the entire team) an executive cannot put enough talent around him to be successful.
Could we be any different? I doubt it. That's a broken model as well.
But - we could be foolish enough to try.

Re: Pau Gasol Question...
What looks to be the most probable scenario is NY trading Marbury to Minny for Marco Jaric, and whatever else the Knicks have to offer. So, no one is getting Garnett. He is staying put.
And when it comes to Pau Gasol, I wouldn't even want him on the Blazers. But, if it meant getting rid of Zach, or Miles, then I'd be all for it. Pau is better than either of those goombas any day. I still prefer a 4 that rebounds, though.

Re: Pau Gasol Question...
As long as we keep Webster and Jack, I wouldn't be opposed to a deal for one of those players.

Re: Pau Gasol Question...
when does Richard Jefferson's BYC expire????
and where are you guys finding this info out so i dont have to post every time
thxs
i really think that we could use Telfair as big time bait and get NJ to bite and give us RJ because they are gonna be desperate VERY soon for a sucessor to J Kidd....and a Zach-Nenad combo would be nice to go along with J Kidd and VC
a future of :
Jack...Webster...Jefferson...Bargnani...Pryzbilla
key bench players- Blake and Khryapa
but of course all of that might not be possible if RJ's BYC doesnt expire this summer
