I didn't hear the report, but when Colin does do something of this nature, he's just preaching to his own choir. It would be like Dwight Jaynes saying he doesn't like the Blazers. Well, most of his audience doesn't like the Blazers, so it's not hard to get his audience to "yes sir, that's aaa correct!"
Sure, Paul Allen might be wanting to cut the $$$, and maybe that means Trader Bob isn't working for both teams (why he is in the first place, well..it's not my money).
Maybe it means Paul "fixes" things, maybe it's just Colin making crap up to stir the pot. I don't know.
I used to be a regular e-mailer on Colins show, but I don't anymore. Partly because he has a morning show and I wouldn't be able to listen to it..but mainly because the "fan" totally and absolutely sucks beano.

I keep telling you all, I will be the GM for the Blazers for only $250,000 a year. Saving Mr. Allen lots just in GM salary.
I will clean it all up too. Trust me!!! And win still....
You guys keep teasing me with these articles. come on... fork it over... I want to dream a bit more.
Maybe some respect and admiration for the Blazers and Seahawks...
the only thing better might be the Beavers get Coach Erickson back....

From what I have read, Allen has lost BILLIONS on a variety of bad investments (mostly Charter Communications) and is taking a hard look at all of his ventures. I would imagine that the demise of ASCN and the Portland Fire were part of this process, so this isn't any news flash.
I also saw something about where Ted Turner lost like 8 billion dollars in AOL.
Tough being a multibillionaire these days.

Whatever the case, I think it's time for some change whether we like it or not. And I for one, like it.

I think Paul Allen lost a lot of his money due to the market kinda self leveling more than losing money on so-so business dealings.

Well......
My NBA Fantasy League just ended. I tied for 1st place. In the 9 years that we've run the league, I've been in sole possession of 1st place five times, I've tied for 1st place twice, I've come in 2nd place once and 3rd place once.
All the other guys in the league tell me that I should look into becoming a GM for an NBA franchise. Yeah, they're joking, but maybe this is my golden opportunity....
Anybody out there have Paul Allen's phone number??????

Wow!
I'm making a Blazer fans only fantasy league next season for our community, and would you be interested in joining us? You sound like good competition! I placed second overall in my fantasy league with 16 people in it... I lost 8-7 in my final matchup for the league title! So frustrating! Well, I can look on the bright side... It was only my first year in a fantasy league, and second isn't that bad!
I hope you join our league when it's that time in a few months...

I really think this is just Colin blowing hot air and it will have no effect on us, the fans. Allen does moves that only relate to business all the time that are construed as relating to sports. Remember a couple years ago when he sold off like 300 mil worth of Microsoft stock and everyone and their mother was claiming it was so he could buy a hockey team?
But if there were something to this and he were lookin' to bring in somebody new the one guy I'm thinkin of is Michael Jordan. He did a decent job in Washington. He'd be a huge PR boost. He's got significant experience both on and off the court. Maybe his time GMing and his most recent come back would give him some kind of insight into how he would go about rebuilding this team. Heck, the players might be more motivated because they know Michael's in charge. I doubt he'd be willing to take the job but maybe Allen and these supposed consultants could talk him into it.

That is exactly why I wanted to see the article rather than believe any interpretation for Cowturd's mouth! I think this is old news.
