The Blazers won't be the worst team next season...
...if Isiah Thomas is coach of the Knicks
Link
Quote:
According to a report in Sunday's New York Daily News, Madison Square Garden chairman James Dolan is considering buying out the final four years of Brown's contract at a figure worth at least $40 million.
Brown suffered through a dismal 23-59 record with New York and feuded with star guard Stephon Marbury all season.
The report indicated that Dolan had become disenchanted with Brown's public criticism of his players and would install team president Isiah Thomas as coach.

What a total disaster.
Is it against NBA rules to be GM/Coach?

I believe Thomas is GM/President right now, so he would be GM/President/Coach.

naw.. if isiah coaches the mess he assembled, it wont be that bad. brown and him never saw eye to eye. but i'll guarantee you that the blazers still will have a worst record than the knicks next year.

The Knicks = Basketball Hell.
The Blazers = Basketball Purgatory. At least in Purgatory you're not being burned alive.

No doubt. That would be rough to be on this Knicks team. It's enough to make a kid like David Lee lose his confidence. Those fans want wins, or blood. No middle ground.

Who cares who coach's the Knicks. Telfair, Jack, Webster, and Viktor will all be better next season... that alone will keep us from having the worst record... especially if we can resign Joel.

Lifetime coaching records:
Thomas: .533 regular seasson win rate. 131-115
McMillan: .488. 233-244
I'm not an Isiah fan, but he's been more successful than Nate has been as an NBA coach.

Isiah Thomas was also coaching a pretty darn talented Indiana team. If anything, that winning percentage should be higher.

Re: The Blazers won't be the worst team next season...
The Pacers were considered underachievers under Isiah Thomas. Nate McMillan has coached, except for really one year, young learning teams.
But any way to say that the Blazers suck is OK, right? No matter what kind of stretch it takes.

So Thomas doesn't get credit for his wins, and Nate doesn't get blamed for his losses.
Unbelievable. And yet not so much.
