What has Nash done that deserves a lot of credit? It doesn't seem very difficult to cut payroll when you reduce the talent level of the team in every deal.
His drafting has been okay, but missing on Paul is really looking like a huge blunder. Webster could certainly become a star, but Paul already is one.

So did Hitler.
Hmm, that comes off as more hostile to Nash than I intended. Ah well, too late now.

Now, that's not completely fair. Eva Braun answered most of Hitler's email. Besides, back in those days there was less spam to wade through. Hitler had it easy compared to John Nash.

Re: Sporting News: Nash out, Vandeweghe in?
Hey, lets talk about us not drafting MJ way back when. It's about as productive as discussing not picking Paul.
After watching a few playoff games, I'm more disgusted with missing out on the VC trade than what happened in the draft. My blame for some of these blunders is on the WHOLE organization, not just one person.
Oh, I also can't wait for next year. I hear Al Harrington will have a break out year. It should be good because he hasn't done squat yet, so it should be interesting. blah, blah, blah, blah..

Re: Sporting News: Nash out, Vandeweghe in?
I have to echo the anti Kiki POV. Even if he has been the GM for Denver's turn around, I still don't like that team. It's not a team, to me, that's going anywhere anytime soon. It's a 1 round and out team and I don't see them getting THAT much better anytime soon. Carmello, IMO, isn't that great of a player and will not become the kind of player that will propell Denver into the next realm of achievment. I didn't like the K-Mart or Ruben signings either. He supposedly built this team to run, run, run, yet they lost their first round match up this season because they couldn't hit a jumper. Vashon didn't even get off the bench in Denver and he was the one guy they could have used in the playoffs. Not sure if that's a Karl thing or a Kiki thing, but either way, the trade was stupid.
Kiki? No thanks. I'd honestly rather keep Nash if I had the choice.

Re: Sporting News: Nash out, Vandeweghe in?
Let's see.......
The ownership issue is in limbo. The future direction of the team is a mystery. Why would a top notch GM (EG Petrie) even consider the job?
I find it funny that the folks who defend Nash generally assume that he is a figurehead with little actual power or influence. Kiki at least has a good relationship with Allen. Having a GM that the owner actually listens to strikes me as being a good thing!
A mediocre GM who can at least do his job vs a mediocre GM who is just filling space. It can't make things any worse.

Not contesting your thoughts because I genreally agree with them. But I can think of many reasons ($) why a GM would consider this job. Blazers got their coach last summer with the same reasons, maybe they can get their GM this summer.
