OT: summertime
I have not experienced the off season in the forums or this board yet...does everybody disappear?
I have gotten so used to having this "behind" my work that I just don't know how I'll adjust if it's gone!

Nahh, stays pretty active during the summer months. Of course, this summer, the board will be heavy laden with the "Get Rid Of _________ and ___________ and ___________!" threads.............

I actually thought the board slowed a bit when the season started. Heck one particulr thread last summer (something about Jerry Stackhouse) on it's own beat the Jazz board here, or at least close to it.

I wouldn't know anything about that.
But how's Stackhouse's leadership doing for the Wizards this playoffs?

I remember that 7 page Stackhouse-Bonzi thread from the "old" site.
Who would you rather have Stackhouse or Bonzi was the subject.
I was one of those that said Bonzi had more upside. And yup, look at the way Bonzi is performing in the playoffs. Stackhouse couldn't even get a Michael Jordan led team to the playoffs.

I wouldn't exactly say Bonzi led the Blazers to the Playoffs. That's like saying Pippen led the Bulls to 6 Championships.

Or even that Rodman led the Bulls to three?

Porter you are more on target with Rodman.
Pippen and Wallace lead this team to the Playoffs, and Bonzis play was very very vital to that, but there are a lot of SF's that could have averaged 15 PPG this season.
Don't get me wrong, I was LMAO in amazement last night watching Bonzi being in an absolute zone. Imagine if he hadn't been.

Well, someone else would've made some shots but, it might have looked a lot more like game one of the Bucks and Nets. Especially considering so may of Bonzi's buckets were bailouts, without him there last night our boys might have only managed to make up 20 of his 45... with maybe five or so additional coming back in garbage time.
Uuuuuuugly -- that's my imagination's spin on it anyway.

The key was that Stackhouse's "leadership" was the only way that many Bonzi-bashers could justify trading away a younger, more offensively efficient player for Stackhouse.
And this year is another huge piece of evidence to show that Stackhouse's leadership skills are either inconsequential or nonexistent.

I remember starting that thread!
I reason behind trading for Stackhouse was to get Rasheed moving. Stackhouse had made mention that he could get through to Rasheed, who at the time was a target for every ref in the NBA and WNBA!
Stackhouse, Wells, Pippen, or Jordan couldn't get Rasheed to play the game that we all know he can. Rasheed has his own idea what he is going to do and how he is going to do it.
Personally, I could do without the crap that Bonzi pulls on the court, like the spitting or namecalling. I just want a good player that gives 100% night in and night out. I guess that they are hard to find!

Great point HOWIE, I was in favor of stack for his "give me the ball" mentality, something few Blazers exhibit. I still think I would take Stack over Bonzi.
BTW word is Stack is done in Washington as is Kwame...

Yeah, Stackhouse is a couple years older but I'd still consider making that move if it were me. The face of the team would change dramatically for the better and, while admittedly I know a lot more about Bonzi's behavior (on and off the court) than I do Stack's, from what little I know of him Stackhouse seems like he brings both better manners and better heart and hustle. I realize that might not be being fair, though. And, especially if Brown were to be included somehow, I'd want to look into it more.

How about Wells for Stackhouse + their top draft pick?
