OT: In one week
As some of you know by now, about 2 weeks ago my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer. On the 11th of this month he went in for more tests to make sure that the cancer either didn't spread from the prostate to other areas of his body, or vice versa. And the day that he finds out is in 1 week (the 23rd).
If it turns out that he only has prostate, that'll be some of the best bad news my family could get. It's very treatable and in some cases can just be removed as a whole. However, if it has spread to other parts of his body (bone, kidney, bladder, etc) or started off elsewhere and migrated to his prostate (which from what little Ive been able to understand, isn't AS likely) they'll have to tackle that first and formost.
So if for the last few weeks Ive been more irritating than normal, and for the next week + I'm really hard to deal with, that's the reason why. I had originally planned on going to the draft lotto party thing, but that could potentially be about when I'll find out (after he finds out). So if it's bad news, I dont think I'll be in an emotional state to care about the Blazers, or where they pick or who they pick, or even if they stay here, or disolve or anything (not to sound too "reality check" there). If it's just the news we're hoping for, I'll care about the pick, but only slightly. If I go to the thing, it'd only to tell a few people the "good" news, but if I'm not there (or on here) it's because I'm not sure if I'll want to be online. Of course, for all I know the temporary escape might be cathartic.
So my point is keep that in mind when I'm making an *** of myself on here, and pass on the word to the big guy up stairs that we can use all the help he deems necessary.
thanks all.
