I STILL think we should have traded Daniels. He's a decent player, and I think he can come through for us, but we should have parlayed him into a chip for the team's future. As it is, he's almoster CERTAINLY going to leave at the end of the year and he'll have lost all value to the team at that point.
I was, and still am, all for trading Damon at the first opportunity to get value for him. But I've always been opposed to dumping him just to be rid of him.
His play this series has been frustrating: it's obvious that he's working hard on defense, but he's getting schooled. Offensively, he did a better job of attacking the basket in game 2, but his inability and/or Cheeks's unwillingness to let him handle the ball means the he and McInnis play together way too much and the team suffers for it.

And I remember clearly saying that injuries and stuff happen and Daniels and Damon could both see big minutes at the most crucial time of the year.

Well, you also said that Portland would win the Pacific, and a lot of other things. Don't toot your own horn too hard.

We thought having Pip at point would make a difference, but it doesn't make any difference if he's not here now.

Pippen should have been traded at the trade deadline, IMO. I think he's been a big distraction since he's been injured and the team would have finished more strongly without him around... there's also the probability that Portland could have received some actual value for him (from a team eager to be out from under a contract) but, like Daniels, he's going to be gone and the Blazers are going to be without one of their bargaining chips because of it.
