Thought all of you would find this interesting:
This was discovered during a recent perusal of the Oregonian archives:

To the Sports Editor:
Well, it's clear to everyone who will look objectively at the first two games of the Championship Series that the Trail Blazers' season is over. They've overachieved all year, and now face an opponent that they cannot defeat. Our home town team must win 4 of the next 5 games, and looking at their performance in Philadelphia, I just can't envision that happening. Even my young son, Leonard, agrees with me on this.
Over the next few days, we will all be encouraged to "think positively" and to "trust in this team." While admirable, these statements will serve only to intensify the inevitable disappointment that we will all feel when the 76ers win this series, and the NBA Championship trophy that goes with it. I therefore hope that all intelligent and rational fans of the Trail Blazers will join with me in conceding this series to their opponents. Trust me, it will be less painful in the end.
Sincerely,
Mortimer Hoopsberg, M.D.
