Who Would You Draft(Today)?
Stole this idea from the RealGM Blazers forum...
Who would you draft with our pick on any given day? Post the date and the player.
5/17: Andrea Bargnani

Re: Who Would You Draft(Today)?
I think it all depends on who is going to get moved this offseason. I am all for a bigman but I think that Portland is going with Adam Morrison, call it a hunch. :d

Re: Who Would You Draft(Today)?
If the Blazers were to pick no 1 overall, at this point I think they would take Aldridge. Bargnani is something we already have. An offensive minded, outside shooting forward. Gay is something we already have (athletic swingman), and we're log jammed at small forward. Adam Morrison is a small forward. If we picked 4th overall I think we might consider him but not at 1-3. I really like shotblocking big forward's who are athletic but from what I read Tyrus Thomas is a bit of a liability on offense, may be undersized, and seems less polished than Aldridge.
Sooo, barring a trade I would say (as of 5-17), that it would be Aldridge.

Same as always Bargnani, however I'm starting to get the feeling that the Blazers are leaning in another direction.

Re: Who Would You Draft(Today)?
I would draft Adam Morrison
rationale:
this year's big men are sub par in comparison to the projected 2007 draft class....the feeling is that Darius Miles is on the way out and that Travis just seems like he will never "quite" get it...
addition of Adam would lock up our 1-3 spots for the foreseeable future
Telfair...Webster...Morrison
Jack....blank......Khryapa
the PR plus of adding Morrison would greatly help the blazers cause as well
trade Blake and Miles for some big man help and draft picks or use them plus our later picks to move up in the draft and snag a guy like Tiago Splitter to go along with the players we would receive in the trade as well
sorry rambling, i tend to do that
cant wait for the lottery!

I agree .... but...
I would first pick Bargani to play the 3... and would love to get Aldrige to play the 4... if I had to choose... I would take Aldridge...
Morrison would probably be my 3rd pick... but could just as easily be my 1st..
We would do well with any of these 3

Re: Who Would You Draft(Today)?
I agree Morrison will be POR pick (with Tyrus Thomas as the darkhorse)...but it won't be at #1....

Re: Who Would You Draft(Today)?
I would draft David Hasslehoff. That way every time Portland plays Dallas, they can take Dirk out of the game just by having Hasslehoff sit on the bench. That at least guarantees 3 more wins next year. How many players can guarantee that?

Re: Who Would You Draft(Today)?
Bargnani, no question.
I think Portland's mildly stoked on Andrea ... Pritchard didn't say much about him on CSMN, so maybe I'm reading too much into this, but I think that's him accidentally tipping his hand when it comes to who he really wants. I don't even think he mentioned Morrison when talking about potential top picks.

Re: Who Would You Draft(Today)?
I readily admit I'm working with very limited knowledge about all these players. Most of what I think I know I've derived from reading the lunatic ramblings of basketball boards posters and the links they provide.
That said, I've been in the Bargnani camp for a long time (as a tall sweet shooting small forward who could play some PF in the future), and I remain there as of today (5/17/06).
Thanks for asking.
