POR - LAL - TOR trade idea
Here is a trade from another board Check it out
PORTLAND sends the #4 and #30 pick to TORONTO
PORTLAND sends Darius to the Lakers
PORTLAND gets Aarom Mckie, and Brian Cook from the Lakers
PORTLAND gets the #1 pick from the Raptors
TORONTO Gets Chris Mihm from the Lakers
TORONTO gets Portlands #4 and #30 pick
LAKERS send Aaron McKie and Brian Cook to the Blazers
LAKERS send Chris Mihm to the Raptors
LAKERS get Darius Miles
PERSONALLY
Instead of Cook and McKie I would rather receive Mo Pete in the deal
what say you?

Re: POR - LAL - TOR trade idea
I would rather do this
PORTLAND gets Mo Pete and Chris Mihm and the #1 pick
LAKERS get DARIUS and Loren Woods
TORONTO gets Juan Dixon, Mckie and Brian Cook, the #4 pick and #30 pick

Re: POR - LAL - TOR trade idea
I think Toronto could do better than Mihm, the #30 pick, and the #4 pick for the #1 pick.

agreed
but actually they are moving down from #1 to #4.... not giving up the #1 on its own
so they are getting good value to draft the man they think will still be available at #4

Re: POR - LAL - TOR trade idea
I really don't see how we could take back so many players. We have 12 roster spots with 3 draft picks at the moment. That would put us at 17 players on a 15 man roster if I'm not mistaken.

Re: POR - LAL - TOR trade idea
ALTERNATE #1
PG Telfair, Jack, Blake (Blake was rumored to go as well)
SG Webster, Dixon, McKie
SF Morrison at the #1, Khryapa, Outlaw
PF Randolph, Skinner, Cook
C Mihm, Przybilla, Theo, HA
16 players
perhaps Joel does leave??? or cut McKie or include Blake after all
ALTERNATE #2
PG Telfair, Jack, Blake
SG Webster, Mo Pete
SF Morrison at the #1, Khryapa, Outlaw
PF Randolph, Skinner, Cook
C Mihm, Przybilla, Theo, HA
15 players one has to go

Hmmm, I'm not sure about that one. The difference between 1 and 4 isn't that great. Toronoto would get a big body to rebound and set picks for Bosh, and get almost the backcourt player they didn't want to take with the first pick, and get a role player with 30? I think that is more than fair.
I'm not sure what the Laker's motivation is. Are they thinking of playing Kobe-Miles-Odem at the 2-3-4? They'd be giving up most of their backup front court (Mihm and Cook). That would mean starting Kwame at C and having only Bynum and Turiaf as backups. Bynum still looks a couple years away from contributing, so that leaves only Turiaf backing up both Brown and Odem. Would Miles be worth it? Is there any chance he could understand and work in the triangle? I don't think so.

Maybe. My initial reaction was to say that I didn't like it, but Portland gets:
-- to move up to the first spot
-- a backup 4 on a rookie deal
-- an expiring contract
IF Portland is going to move Miles at any cost, I suppose there could be worse outcomes. I don't value the jump from #4 to #1 that highly, however, and I'm not as eager to trade Miles as almost everyone else on the planet, so I'm not a huge fan of the deal...
