Jamaal Williams was a senior this year, and the odds of a 6'6" power forward of his level getting drafted are pretty slim.

Um... :
Well maybe not...I swore I though that guy was a sophmore...oh well....
I still maintain though that the Huskies supporting staff was much stronger than Gonzaga's was....

Much like the per 48 minute stats, pps is a useful stat but cannot be directly extrapolated with any accuracy.

Interestingly, the only attempt at a study on this theory found it untrue: http://dberri.wordpress.com/2006/06/...ns-in-the-nba/ . It still might actually be true, of course, as this isn't a definitive analysis by any stretch, but it's still decent evidence. I don't think you/we can claim that "pps tends to go down as players take more shots" without challenge anymore.

Re: Martell, Roy and Morrison
Did anyone know this about Roy? I didnt.
Quote:
Thursday will not be the first time Roy has worked out for Portland. In 2002, Roy entered the NBA draft as a high school senior after he didn't meet NCAA eligibility standards because of his SAT scores. His first workout was with the Blazers, where he went against Boris Diaw.
He withdrew from the draft after the workout for the Blazers, and later, in his fourth try, posted a qualifying score on the SAT.

I read that. What is strange is it took him four times on the SAT, but his coach calls him the smartest player he has ever coached (took Roy 45 mins to understand the offense).
Someone mentioned the difference between strret smarts and basketball smarts. Thats all fine, but to me its still strange to have such an extreme (4times taking the SAT v. smartest basketball player ever coached)
Not hung up on this . . . just strange to me.

As much as I don't want the Blazers to draft Roy, it would be easy to put him at 6'6"ish in the 2 guard slot and move Webster who is 6'8"ish to SF
