In ABC's Eyes, Which Game Would Be More Profitable??
Game 7 - Blazers/Mavs
or
Game 1 - Lakers Spurs
or, would they both be on ABC Sunday?

Tough call...
They would probably like to have them both if they could swing it.
That way they get the big LA market, the big anti-LA market....AND the "curious as to how this Blazer-Mav matchup will play out" market.
The miniscule Portland market, Dallas market, and SA markets would have no bearing on their decision.
If they had to choose one.....they might go for the Blazer-Mav game because of the historic significance of a win, and so they could give the Blazers an opportunity to lose (read melt-down) on national TV.

I would officially like to make a bet with anyone on this board...
I bet ABC will air the Blazers/Mavs or Kings/Mavs on Sunday.
Anyone want to take that bet?

Why would you make a rash claim like that? DO you think I am trying to make unfair bets???

Oh reawee, I sould think that both games would make a great double header. The drama of the Blazers/Mavs would be better than game one of any Los Angeles/San Antonio series. History could be in the making and ABC would be all over it! My

More profitable to ABC? Lakers-Spurs would get higher ratings (regardless of the potential history-making comeback by Portland), so it would be more profitable.
However, a Game #7 for Dallas-Portland would be more profitable to the league. Every extra game that's played here in the first round (in the expanded format) makes more $ for the league, adding to the BRI.

If in fact the Blazers do lose, and it ends up being the Mavs/Kings, I find it utterly impossible that ABC would slot them in place of the Lakers/Spurs.
Something seems suspiciously awry, here.

It HAS GOT TO BE a Game 7. Espescially since we would be trying to pull off 1st time playoff history. But from NBA.com I saw that the LA SA game was on Monday I believe, maybe BAC is already gearing up for several Game 7's?

I think most people in the country would rather watch Dallas/ Portland cause the Lakers look to be back in form. That's predicatable TV and the world needs a little spice! They can put on the Lakers game after to rival the Total Gym infomercials.
