Just another POR - ATL trade idea
ATLANTA is a team that needs a point guard badly and has $7 mil available under the cap right now
If the right draft order came about similar to the Boston scenario...
why not trade Telfair to ATL for the #5 pick instead of Boston.. then we do nto have to worry about taking on Dickau????
then we can do the same thing with the Boston concept.. draft #4 and #5
Since Atlanta has salary cap available... and PG is a huge need for them... How about?
Telfair + Miles to ATL for the #5 pick and Childress?
This offloads Miles contract for us. ATL gets the PG they need and still get a SF with skills
We could still draft Aldridge/Bargnani and ? with the #4 and #5 with any luck
THIS BY PASSES MINNESOTA who could throw a monkey wrench in the Boston scenario
the idea of moving Telfair for the right pick is opening up possibilities....

That would be highway robbery for us.
A late lotto PG who can't shoot and an underachieving SF with apparent attitude problems for two high to mid lotto players? I'd buy that for a dollar.

i would rather trade 30 31 and maybe a player to be named to seattle for 10 trade blake and dixon to atl for 5.Then have 4,5,10.

Atlanta $14.1 mil is available in mid July..
Right now they have about $7 mil available to absorb salary
The draft woudl have to start off something like this
TOR Bargnani
CHI Thomas
CHA Roy
Leaving Aldridge, Morrison, Gay and some others on the boards
I say we draft Aldridge... big men are hard to get, and Joel is leaving probably
Then we make a trade (Like I have always said... to get that 2nd lotery pick)
IF we do a deal to get hte #5 what does it take.... they do need a PG like I said.. if Telfair is being thought of for the #7.. why not the #5... in the Boston scenario we took another player back. Atlanta can absorb the salary..
OPTION 1) Telfair for the #5, easily absorbing Telfairs $1.6 mil salary
OPTION 2) Can we offload Miles $6.87 salary?
Telfair $1.6 mil + Miles $6.9 mil for the #5 pick
increases Atlanta salary by $8.5 mil.... they would need to send back $1.5 mil + to get it to work
its possible...

Interesting idea. This proposed deal is far superior to the Boston idea. Sadly, I doubt the Hawks would be interested.
They might do Telfair-for-#5 (rather than draft M Williams), but I can't see them going for the Childress/Miles part.
