The Heartbreak Thread
I can't think of any other fans that have gone through so much heart break..........we just can't get a break. It's like the refs refuse to give us a break. It's just not fair..........

Dont blame it on the refs.....
I have alot more respect for this Blazer team now, and so does the majority of blazer fans. I mean, they showed great heart and resialance by coming back and winning 3 in a row...
LET THE TRADE RUMORS BEGIN!!!!!

Mavs stepped up under pressure and played better. I'm proud of all the Blazers. Sheed really stepped up.

i doubt this thread is the only heartbreak thread.
wasn't the refs--i actually think the Mavs got screwed on more calls than Portland.
Dallas was just better tonight, and that's all that mattered.

DEFINITELY disappointing. There's really no "goat" on the Blazers... Wells probably had the worst game of anyone who played, but even he played pretty good defense and had some big efforts in the second half.
We just didn't have anyone who had a consistently good production level this game. Wallace was absent in the first half. ZR wasn't quite as effective as he's been. Sabas was obviously worn to a nub and just wasn't able to cover any ground defensively in the fourth. Damon was effective overall, but shooting 16 times is too much from a PG, IMO. Pippen had a huge 3 and drew a great charge, but he was ineffective guarding Dirk (why didn't they keep Sheed on him?) down the stretch and he was beaten off the dribble earlier in the game.
The list goes on and on.
Just disappointing, but some team has to lose, and the Mavs are a good team. I wish Davis and Anderson were healthy, though, and Pippen were closer to 100%.

Pippen hit a big three and took a big charge.
Wallace hit a bunch of big shots.
But the game turned about to be more like Game 2. We could score, but we couldn't stop them.
Darnit.

For the most part I think the officiating was fine though that call against Sabas when we had a chance to pull within 1 or tie it was absolute bunk.
Dallas (esp. NVE) hit some huge shots.

Its the difference between having a great supporting cast of role players, ie Portland, and having a superstar, ie Diggler.
Im feelin pretty sad. Stupid Dallas. Stupid Dallas and their hot cheerleaders who the cameraman couldn't shift away from.

I disagree. NVE was more instrumenal in the Mavs winning today than Dirk, IMO. Wallace matched Dirk in the second half, but nobody (meaning either Damon or Bonzi) was able to stick with NVE's production.

Heartbreak? This is only the first round, and Portland wouldn't have a chance against the Kings. Not because Portland doesn't have talent, they are just STUPID UNINTELLIGENT basketball players. The only real court leaders with any BBall intelligence are Sabonis and Pippen, but they are too old.
