I think people don't take the word "war" seriously. How many wars has America been in over the past 20 years? War on Terror. War on Poverty. War on Drugs. Frankly, I think it's an insult to real war.
So last night this idea popped into my head out of the blue and I thought it was kinda clever... Corny, but clever. Feel free to shoot me down and trample my self-esteem Here it is:
"This year, we go to W.A.R."
W.A.R. meaning Webster Aldridge Roy
I think you got the order wrong. Given the youth and inexperience on this team, R.A.W. would be more appropriate. Of course, since those are also Sheed's initials, I suspect the team might have reservations about making use of that acronym.
The marketing campaign should be simple. I'm not sure how many of you remember the classic film "young guns" starring some of our most excelent young actors at the time in the 80's, but that would be perfect. Have Aldridge, Roy, Webster, Jack and Sergio all on horses in the old west...(which ties into trailblazers)
MM-That's just corny enough to work!!
I cringe at some of the ideas the Blazers have contrived. Remember the "prom night" with the Blazers about 8 years ago. Sabas and the rest of the starting 5 with tuxedos escorting the Blazer dancers to the floor??
