50 wins in the regular season in a rough conference. Going to 7 games with the team that's won the most games in the NBA. Developing ZR as a young cornerstone for the franchise, while having Woods as another young possible star on the horizon. Working our way out of salary cap hell (with Pippen's HUGE salary coming off the books this summer and Kemp's buyout money coming off next summer). Only 3 players in the top 12 that are over 29 years old.

Boy, sounds like a decent combination of things to keep together. Sure better than teams that have blown themselves up like the Bulls, Nuggets, Cavs, et al, have going on.

Those are all good poonits Ed O however If you haven't noticed the Blazers have been regressing, going in the wrong direction for quite awhile now and have been stuck in the 1st round for the last few years.Call me a pessimist but the Blazers almost making a comeback in the 1st round after having been swept in the 1st round the previous couple of years is just not very exciting to me.

In their defense though they haven't exactly drawn the most ideal opponents in their 1st round losses so maybe you're right.

It's just their offcourt nonsense coupled with their apparent lack of desire and the annual 1st round oustings that have fans so weary. All in all I guess it's not as bad as we all perceive it to be but boy it'd sure be nice to get somewhere in the playoffs. This is a hella tough conference and division we are in.

touche`& kudos to you

I agree with Ed O. You don't dismantle an entire team who wins 50 games. The roster just needs some tweaking here and there. Sabas and Pip make the team look older but they are really fairly young or in their prime right now. Portland has had some tough matchups the last few years. LA has ended up going on to win 3 straight titles. It would be stupid for one thing and a very bad business decision to get rid of talent for less talent. They haven't gone past the first round forever now but you think bringing an overhauled roster will do better? 12 new guys playing together for probably the first time. You have to be missing brain matter or brain cells to think getting rid of Wallace will do wonders for the team. He's going nowhere unless a star player comes back in return.

I think that getting rid of Wallace for the right price wouldn't be as bad as many people here would believe. I would rather have two players that are not as good play their hearts out, than Rasheed Wallace who lacks consistency and desire to use his assets? It seems to me that Rasheed only plays hard when his is upset and that only gets him into trouble. So what do you do with him?
