Sheed would be perfect for.............
..........New Jersey
since Sheed will never take on the responsiblity of being a go-to guy......I think New Jersey would be perfect for him
u see Kidd has all the focus of the team sheed can benifit from that.......Sheed never steps up when he needed
or should I say when he is expected
So basically he could just play his game a become a star
This thread isn't really coming from a blazer fan.......its coming from a Rasheed wallace fan
he is still my 2nd favorite player in the league(T-Mac is #1)

I know plenty of old timers and HOFer's that claimed defense in the late 90's and early 2000's weren't as good as the 80's. Wilt once said he'd average 70 ppg in the modern-day NBA because defenses were so much worse. Pippen once said KG was a stats guy who disappears down the stretch of games. Bill Walton once said Rasho was a better interior defender than Tim Duncan because Tim Duncan was on the bench at the time. Barkley once said Argentina was located north of the Indian ocean.

Love the Marc Jackson-Jeff Van Gundy combo...

I think Sheed would destroy the eastern conference. I criticize him a lot for not wanting to bang down in the paint, but if I were in the league I'd be a little scared to do it too. The west is SO BIG down there, and in the east he'd have free reign on the basket.

Exactly true, tblazerdude.
There's a reason Jermaine O'Neal averages a double-double in the Eastern Conference - he only has to work hard when he plays against the West, which happens far less often than it does for guys like Sheed.
Put Wallace on the Nets, the Heat, the Hawks, any of those teams looking for inside help, and you've got an all-star, every year. Even Brian Grant looks like an all-star for Miami, when he doesn't have to play out of position at center.

! problem. New Jersey would need to give up on Kenyon Martin to bring Rasheed in. Martin is in his 3rd year after being the #1 overall and is an integral part of the Nets success.
Teams I think Sheed would work out better on then NJ.
Milwaukie
Orlando
New York
New Orleans
Houston
Toronto
Philly
None of these teams have a legit PF (except NO is OK), but would benefit hugely from Sheeds presence.

Disagree with regard to Orlando, New Orleans, and Philly. Orlando's got Drew Gooden who could be a fine frontcourt NBA player before long. The Hornets have PJ Brown, who's been more consistent than Sheed the past few years, and Philly's got Derrick Coleman who's finally producing now that he can play third, rather than second, fiddle to Al with the arrival of Keith Van Horn.
But Sheed would fit in Toronto, New York (though the NY press would eat him alive for his underachieving), Houston, and Milwaukee. The Rockets would be tough with Sheed, Franchise, and Yao as their three stars.

I just dont see the fit 2 well With J Kidds ability 2 run a team like a machine Sheed does his own thing and wouldnt buy intot hat system I just see him with other players trying 2 score and worry about themselves instead of with some1 trying 2 help him score I also wonder how hed react 2 beign 2nd fiddle

While I agree with Schilly about Martin and NJ's situation not being a good one for Sheed, I think Philly would welcome him.
True, DC is producing rather well, but DC is like Rasheed plus 8 years.
DC's basically an old man, and the Sixers would probably give him up in a second for Sheed. KVH is a SF, but I'm not sure about Kenny Thomas, I'm guessing they'd give him up.
And as for NY, I wouldn't mind seeing him in a Knicks uni next season. He's big, he's got an outside touch, and he'd be in the East. I say go for it.
Any team in the East except for NO and NJ would basically jump all over the chance at Sheed.

Would Sheed be a great fit in NJ?
Who cares.....if we could con the Nets into a Sheed for K-Mart deal, I might have to stop bashing Whitless!

If Jerry West is serious about making a run for Kobe Bryant next summer, he needs to clear $20 million in salary. Rasheed could be worth $17 million in cleared salary.
Something like Person + Swift + Knight for Rasheed fits under cap rules. I don't like getting 3 players back for Rasheed (the rotation needs to be shortened, not lengthened), but Swift could play PF with Zach and Person is a 3-point specialist who could come off the bench.

Ick!
I'd rather have Wallace walk as a FA than give him up for such drek. Person and Knight would barely get off the bench and Swift would be the "jewel" of the deal and be coming off the bench.
No way.
