I can understand not wanting to lose sole ownership of the Traiblazers, but I don't really understand all the angst towards Seattle.

Seattle's a great city, Portland's a great city and both have a lot more in common with each other than they do any other major American cities.

So why all the bitterness?

I guess I'm coming from more of an outside perspective these days, not having lived on the west coast full-time for about 7 years. But seriously, what's the big deal? Portland and Seattle are both awesome. Until Portland picks up more sports teams, what's so bad about rooting for the Mariners or Seahawks? They're only 2.5 hours away... plenty of people in Southern Oregon (way more than 2.5 hours away) probably root for the Blazers, and there are situations like that all over the country.
