Jack starting @ PG - what you wanted?
Had you been told at the end of last season that the Blazers unquestioned starter at PG would be Jack the following season, would you have been happy?
I will admit that I'm a Telfair fan, but I think somewhere inside my brain I knew Jack would be a better PG for this team, so I will say that I'm happy to have Jack as our starting PG. I love his attitude, his toughness, and his ability to play within the offense. He has a nice mid range jumper that I believe will end up to be better than Telfair's, and he plays better defense than Telfair. He's just not as fun to watch.
As for Blake, I like him, but he is close to maxing out his potential. Jack on the other hand has a way to go yet.

I'm very happy to have Jack as our starter for the same reasons you stated above. Jack reminds me of Terry Porter.

Of the three point guards, I'm glad we decided on keeping Jack. He's big, physical, can defend and is probably a better shooter than Telfair was. I like it.

I agree 100%. I would also add that Jack keeps in control for the most part (not like the out of control style of Telfair) and reminds me of Terry Porter as well.

Re: Jack starting @ PG - what you wanted?
I would of been happy with any because from the emergence of Blake last season, it's obvious that Nate is going to play the best player. I always thought it was going to be Jack. Seeing him take over games late in the season was tantalizing. I can't wait to see him running the point all season.

Re: Jack starting @ PG - what you wanted?
I had the feeling last year that he would end up starting, maybe not right off the bat,and certainly didn't expect it to come about the way it did. He impressed me from the start, hes big enough and not afraid to bump back a bit. And (it seemed) when he does get knocked on his can, more often than not those one handers he tosses up,somehow impossibly go down. Now,knowing how bad his ankle was thru the season,I'm even more impressed.
If Sergio pans out & can keep it under control,I think hes gonna be just as exciting if not more so than Telfair. Watching the vids on Youtube,I had to replay them time after time doing the-"No way,I didn't just see what I thought I saw"! The #2 & #6 pick and I can't wait to watch #27.

Re: Jack starting @ PG - what you wanted?
exactly, whats not to like!
we managed to offload ST's *potential* and got Roy who could very well be our starting SG AND cover at PG if needed!
traded a good backup with some scrubs for a player who will most likely start at the C!
im happy

Re: Jack starting @ PG - what you wanted?
I like Jack and I think he'll do well as the undisputed starter of the team.
That said, I still believe Telfair will end up being the better NBA player.
However, I am optimistic that Jack + Roy will end up being a good enough combo to offset the loss of Bassy.
And I am very, very happy that we opted for Jack over Blake.

That's a slap in Terry Porter's face. Don't ever compare Jack to Porter. Jack will never be good as Porter and Jack is a career back-up at best in the NBA.

Re: Jack starting @ PG - what you wanted?
well, considering he's only started four games in his entire NBA career, I'm not exactly thrilled to have a starting PG with so little experience.
the next Terry Porter? I doubt it. odds are he'll probably resemble a more physical, poorer shooting version of Derek Fisher. or maybe Andre Miller with better defense and worse pasing. of the three PG's, he was the best fit for this team though.
he did finish out the season on a high note, but people have to remember that he had more than 7 assists only three times last season. he's probably not going to be a great setup man, at least this coming year.
Roy looks to be the perfect compliment to Jack's game, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

Re: Jack starting @ PG - what you wanted?
Watching Jack defend the likes of Ray Allen last year pleased me to no end.
IMO, Jack sees the floor better than Telfair, can finish better than Telfair and is a better defender.
I am very happy to see JJack assume the starting PG job.

Re: Jack starting @ PG - what you wanted?
I like Jack.
I think that the most ironic thing of all is that several of us on the board spent literally months debating the merits of Telfair vs. Blake and now that entire argument has been made moot.

Re: Jack starting @ PG - what you wanted?
I'm eager to see Jack on a healthy ankle. He was one of the bright spots for me last year, and I think he'll only get better this year with more opportunity to succeed.
Looking forward to it.
