Will Aldridge be a Duncan? Probably not, but he will probably be very good and Morrison will probably not be a Clyde either.
I believe that Morrison will be a good scorer and probably not much else. He may not be any better than Webster as a scorer.
There are few players that you can hardly stop in the NBA. Kobie, Wade, LeBron, Nash and I am sure I am missing some but most teams will be able to shut down both Morrison and Aldridge. It will depend on how the talent aroung them will be.

Bowie was on the all rookie team his first year, and probably would have been an all star several years running if he had stayed healthy. Aldridge hasn't had any health concerns like Bowie did. He hurt his hip, and recovered and has played well with no problems since. Bowie on the other hand had two broken legs, and was tested by as many doctors as Blazers had fans last year.

Re: Morrison vs. Aldridge
I don't regret it now, but I'll probably regret it later if AM gets as many calls in the regular games as he got in summer league. I don't care what he's shooting from the outside, if you're able to get that kind of respect from the officials that quick it's going to be hard to stop you...ever (see Dwayne Wade minus the shooting).
Who knows, maybe the NBA decided to push their marketing around him this year. He'll probably have a much better shot at ROY than Roy since we have zero television exposure.

Re: Morrison vs. Aldridge
Yea I just love it when people can't get over the fact the Blazers didn't pick who they wanted them to pick. Thats what these threads over and over is really all about isn't it? Is the "We didn't draft Adam Morrison" post of the day? At least do something creative to make your thread different from every other one posted each day since the draft.

Re: Morrison vs. Aldridge
Yeah I wish POR had selected Morrison, I am not a fan of Aldridge's game at all...I think the guy is soft and won't be anything more than a mediocre NBA player....Now that he is a Blazer though, I hope he proves me wrong....

Re: Morrison vs. Aldridge
No.
Adam provides one thing, scoring in the half-court. Adam is not a fast player and will not get a lot of points in transition.
Lamarcus can play defense, rebound and he can run the floor. He is the type of player you build a team around.

If that's the case then the Blazers were really stupid. Nate wants to play a half court offense, so why not draft the one guy in the draft that can score in the half court offense.

Maybe because Nate also wants to play good half-court D.

Big men that can post up and hit a top of the circle J can't score in a half-court offense??? LA projects to be able to excell on both ends of the court. Adam will always be able to shoot, but he'll also always be a slow and undersized swing player who is a defensive liabilty.
I think LaMarcus projects much better as the two mature, and he's also a much better fit with whats already in place.

No
They already had a player just like him with Webster. What they really needed was a shot blocker at the 4 and they got one who could score.
