Twiddlin' my thumbs
Worst time of year. Summer league done. Trade rumors basically done. Training camp still too far away.
I want my Blazer news, something worth giving a hoot about.

I was just thinking the exact same thing. Our only hope is a mid-summer trade, but that seems unlikely at this point. October seems so far away.

This is the time of year that I get reacquainted with my basketball video games...

ESPN classic and NBA TV. Replay old NBA games, keeps me busy. Every now and then you catch a Blazer game. Also, Team USA. If your lucky during time outs you can see Nate on the bench.

I have the last Lakers and Suns games still on TIVO from last year and keep watiching them over and over. Know nearly every play by heart. Helps a little.
We played a fairly good game against the Lakers and could have beaten them if Ratlif had not gotten into foul trouble and Skinner hadn't missed a sure put back stuff shot and someone else hadn't missed a lay up immediatly following and...... (Man did we miss rebounding)
I imagine that Kryhapa is Magoire and Ratlif is Lamarcus or Raef and that Telfair is Jack and Dixon is Roy and... well you get the picture.
Late summer blues. Is that a song or something????

Re: Twiddlin' my thumbs
It sounds like Pritchard is still actively shopping Darius though. I think something will get done before training camp begins.

My gut feeling is that he'll be "showcased" the first half of the season and will be shipped out midseason. For the first time in a couple of years, management is making trades to make the team better, not shed payroll. So that's making it harder for anything to get done.
But I too am feeling a little lost without all the Blazers news, trades, rumors and the like. Even CSMN, usually the highlight of my week, has provided little insight the past few weeks.
Let's flip the attitude, though -- instead of being depressed about no news, let's all look at it like we're recharging our batteries during the downtime, so we'll be that much more excited once the season rolls around.

Which is exactly what I thought would happen until I heard Miles was a few days away from leaving before the Jeffries situation arose. Make no mistake, this guy won't be back in Portland come October.
