Re: Blazer's Sergio Highlight Video
He will definitely be a crowd favorite after he throws a few sick passes on a fast break. With that said, I don't think he is Nate's kind of PG. This cat.....excuse me gato( for you knuckleheads, that means cat in Spainish) is all flash. I don't think Nate wants flash. He wants a tough, get in there and get your hands dirty kinda player. I hope it works. He'd be great comin' off the bench as a spark plug. Who knows, if you would of told me that the combo of Pat Riley and J Will would work as well as it has, I would have laughed. OLE'!

I must respectfully disagree with you on the "all flash" bit. He dose have pizzaa (sp?) but he showed me in the Semi-final game that he is much more than that. He was poised, couragous, and very smart. He adapted to that game and time because that was what was needed.
Yes, he loves the game and has a lot of fun playing it. But once he learns the speed and style of "Nate's" NBA game he will be great on offense IMO. He is probably the long term PG of our championship team of the future.
This team that is now assembled will be better at "team" ball than we have seen for a long time, again IMO.

Re: Blazer's Sergio Highlight Video
it's a nice little clip.
you have to remember that Carlos Arroyo looked like an NBA superstar for Puerto Rico, so you can't always go by how a player performs in FIBA.
still, though, Tony Parker dropped to the #28 pick a few years ago, so it's not like international skills don't translate.
I'm pretty surprised we've been able to pick up two decent looking point guard prospects (Jack and Rodriguez) with picks in the 20's.

I think often good to very good players are picked up in the teens and twenties. I am not very good at research but does anyone remember where Parker and Nash were picked? I don't believe they were picked all that high either.
Another thing we are looking for is not the 5 best players in the league to make our team, but some good, some great, some specialists, that IMO makes a "team".
Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Blazer's Sergio Highlight Video
Parker was the #28 pick, while Nash was picked #15.
i think the big lesson in drafting after you get in the 20's is that it's time to look for guards and small forwards. most of the big men with any real potential are gone by the end of the lottery, but guys less than 6'7 who have NBA-caliber upside are still lingering.
Arenas, Parker, Ginobili, Redd--that's just a short list that immediately jumps to mind. when I try to think up a similar list of big men drafted in the late 20's/second round, I can't think of anyone of that caliber.

Okur #38, Boozer #35 are probably the best very late pick bigs in recent years.
Also, Zach #19 is a pretty good non-lotto pick for a big. Also, Samuel Dalembert #26, Jamaal Magliore #19, Al Harrington #25, Nazr Mohammed #25.
But yeah, it is much tougher to find a good one than with a small.

Not a bad shortlist. I would probably add Kristic in there as well.. He was a late pick right?
Plus, if we don't add him, within minutes we would have 50 Nets fans mentioning the slight..hehe
