Majic Johnson
As I watch the playoffs, and remember that there were some wild unsubstantial rumors Magic may have been interested in coaching the Blazers when Cheeks was hired...
Would Majic be a good GM?
he has no experience I believe, but of course has a good basketball mind...
He also has several business ventures that seem to be successful.... but that does not translate to GM brilliance...
Not that it matters but he meets most of my wants in a GM
1) He was a NBA player
2) Bonus: He is a hall of famer
3) He has coaching experience, although not the greatest
4) He competed in the Finals... and he has won (way too many)
5) He was a PG who ran the team on the floor
6) He understands what it takes to win at a high level
Do you think he would be interested at all?
Is he still employed by the Lakers?
Would he require a partial ownership? (Allen: I do not think he would give up a portion. No need to)
Would Dr. Buss allow him to go here?

I hate Magic Johnson and won't have any part of him in Portland.
The one thing I think he is, is soft when it comes to negotiations. He's too nice of a guy (at least on the surface). I don' t like him at all.

he ended the season as the lakers head coach a long time ago even before he made his brief comeback in a year that the lakers didnt even make the playoff. i dont recall what season this was but he didnt do that great of a job but the team wasnt that good either. I just cant imagine magic being a good coach.

Would that make him a better fit for president?

He is just like Clyde Drexler, not really a good fit anywhere, but would be a great person to have just hangin around.
