jermaine o'neal had 105 rebounds in their series vs Boston.

Jermaine's a solid rebounder, no question, but Boston is one of the few teams that can give Dallas a run for the money when it comes to softest inside...

The 1980s version of the Celtics and Lakers ... both had multiple great big men.

The Celtics had 2 primary scorers though in Bird and McHale. Parish got his share, but much more in a supporting role. The Lakers I'm not quite as sure about. Early it was Kareem and Magic, but later it was more Magic and Worthy with a fairly heavy dose of Scott. The roles of the cast changed a bit, but I think it mostly stuck to the 2-3 primary players mold.
So, I still say S.A. creates problems for themselves by trying to incorporate Jermaine into a 4 offensive star system. I doubt it would be as bad for him as it was in Portland, but he certainly didn't thrive the first time around with limited touches. His mentality seems to be all or nothing.
