I bet we'll be seeing BG at some home games this season!
Welcome home, Brian. Welcome home.

They didn't mention BG's philanthropic efforts involving the local agricultural/horticultural industry.

Re: Brian Grant announces retirement, settles in Portland
I like BG and it's nice to have him back in pdx. I remember back during the playoffs, the night before a game he was in a friend’s restaurant while I was there. He and two men in suits polished off an entire bottle of vodka in mixed drinks. I thought he was crazy and was going to die the next day on the court. He went out and played harder then anyone else and cleaned up every garbage board and dove on the floor every chance he got. He is a true believer in one of my favorite sayings, "Live hard, Play hard".
And by the way, he was also genuinely nice. I got to relax and speak with him on a couple occasions and he was a true mench. I hope I have a chance to talk with him in the future.

Re: Brian Grant announces retirement, settles in Portland
I've seen Brian drinking up a storm several o' Friday nights out and about the city. I've ran into him at the Who Song & Larry's Wet Wednesdays in the summer quite often.
P.S. His wifey is a hottie, but the smoking thing is kinda nasty.

Re: Brian Grant announces retirement, settles in Portland
Good thing Crapzano wasnt around during the days of B.Grant etc. He'd tear him up for enjoying a drink the day before a game.

Re: Brian Grant announces retirement, settles in Portland
I thought that there was a "reason" he never wanted to come back to PDX and this "reason" involved his wife not wanting him to come back.
Perhaps I mis-interpreted some comments made a few years back....
