Re: Joel Freeland: 46 points, 10 rebounds, 4 blocks

regardless of the competition, those are some damned fine numbers.

kind of makes me wish we'd kept Rodriguez overseas this year. seems kind of a waste just keeping him on the bench.

on the other hand, Nate made a lot of progress last year with Jack, Telfair and Blake. perhaps management just decided to get him indoctrinated into "nate ball" as soon as possible. given his Jason Williams leaning, it could be a good idea.

My understanding from the reports was that Sergio insisted on coming over now. That wasn't what the Blazers really wanted, but they had no choice. If your draft pick shows up, you have to sign them to their rookie contract or risk losing their rights.

That's why God, err.. I mean David Stern, invented the D-League.

Re: Joel Freeland: 46 points, 10 rebounds, 4 blocks

I think the Roy injury eliminated the Rodriguez NBDL strategy until he gets back.

Dickau goes down, and we have no backup ballhandler to spell Jack.

I feel bad for Rodriguez, but I think he'll do really well down at the DL with an assistant and a translator working on his game full-time. If he's as talented as everyone says, he'll make some adjustments for a spring return.
