Re: Nets offering Jason Collins, 2nd Round Pick for Magloire
I think that Portland needs more to give up and expiring contract or New Jersey is going to have to take back something (i.e. Darius Miles). Personally I think that Collins and a 2nd rounder isn't enough even with the way that Magloire is currently playing. I'd have to say no deal if I was running the show in Portland.

Re: Nets offering Jason Collins, 2nd Round Pick for Magloire
Why would Portland do that? Collins would be riding the end of Portland's bench (he's worse than Magloire) making 6 mil per over the next 3 seasons, that's just dreadful...

What he said.
I'd rather have the expiring contract. Adding Miles would make it a no-brainer.

No, no, and no.
We can do better than that.

Re: Nets offering Jason Collins, 2nd Round Pick for Magloire
New Jersey would have to give us their 2007 first rounder (if they have one), and the way they are playing it might be a lottery pick or close to it. Collins for Magloire doesn't work on tradechecker but Collins plus Macinnis (expiring contract, don't worry, he would never play for Portland) for Magloire plus Dan Dickau (or Dixon) would work. Collins is not too old yet and maybe some team would have injury problems and be desparate enough to trade for him again at the deadline.

Nets have two 2006 first round picks, and they are both sitting on the Nets bench, and the Blazers can't have either of them.

Doing nothing is better. A lotto pick and it's a different story.

would work, you would have to cut McInnis (obviously) and someone else for it to happen however..

Re: Nets offering Jason Collins, 2nd Round Pick for Magloire
Collins and a top 10 protected first rounder in 2007 would work imo. I think that would be fair for both teams.
