Would you trade Outlaw for David Lee?
I was watching a re-run of the Knicks game tonight and I think David Lee would be the perfect player for what Nate wants to put on the floor. Someone who goes at it at all times, can rebounds, do the hustle plays and can even score if looked upon to do so. He's averaging almost 11 points a game, while shooting nearly 65% from the field and is pulling down a smidgen under 9 boards a game.
So I have this question for you:
Would you consider trading Outlaw for David Lee, and if not, what player(s) would you trade in order to get him? Also, what do you think about him?

I would in a heart beat. However, the real questions is: Would NY do it? I really doubt it. David Lee rebounds with the best of them and a good all around role player that would thrive in Portland.

Add one of our second rounders and maybe Isaiah will bite.

Lee easily has the highest basketball IQ on that team. He's a fantastic role player.
Doubt he comes cheap. He's only costing the Knicks about $1M per for the next few years. In spite of that popular Knicks-don't-care-about-money stigma, they'd clone David Lee ten times over if they could.

LOL man you're dreaming. Lee is arguably the most valued knick ATM. He's a guaranteed double-double off the bench! It'd take a whole lot more the T-Law to get Lee here.

Isn't Davis Lee a PF? Seems pointless to me to add yet another power player when we already have Zach AND LaMarcus Aldridge

Power forward or not, I'd still trade for him. He's versatile enough to play center and even some small forward. Plus, he'd help us out in the rebounding department.

If it involved this years draft pick yes... but Chicago has their pick right?
How about Zach for the pick and a SF via Chicago?

No..they have their pick, but they'd end up with the lower of the 2 between Chicago and them. The can trade it. But realistically it won't be a very high pick.

He was a sticking point in that Miles/Hardaway trade last season, I believe.

Hmm, if that's the case, I have to give some kudos to Nash for recognizing talent and trying to join the rest of the league in fleecing Isaiah Thomas, although of course we'd still be better of if we had traded Miles for an expiring at this point.
To answer the original question: OMG yes, I would trade Outlaw for Lee, but no way in heck does Zeke do that deal. He's their starting PF there, and one of the few players who plays defense and plays the right way and doesn't pout and ***** while demanding touches and underperforming. He's also one of the few things Thomas can actually point at on the roster and say, "look, I'm not completely incompetent, at least I do well with late draft picks".
Even though Lee is a true PF and that's not what we need, I'd still do the trade just because the talent move is so lopsided. Lee is definitely a Nate-type player. Unfortunately, there's no chance that Zeke give him up.

I'd say Renaldo Balkman and Nate Robinson have also turned into good late picks for Isaiah. (Trading for Robinson on draft day).
Eddy Curry has been playing solid as well, while Tyrus Thomas has struggled badly.
The problem with Isaiah though is his abundance of guards who all think that they are the best in the NBA and all want shots. Francis, Crawford, Marbury and Richardson are whats wrong with the Knicks.

Re: Would you trade Outlaw for David Lee?
I wouldn’t make that trade. Travis Outlaw has been inconsistent this year, but he’s a great spark plug off the bench. David Lee is a great player, but there is no room for him on the team. We already have a log jam in our front-court and bringing in Lee wouldn’t make sense. I would rather see Aldridge getting those minutes. So as far as the trade, I would say no.
