POR\WAS\ATL trade rumor
Blazers would send Magliore to WAS
WAS would send Jarvis Hayes and Brendan Haywood to ATL
ATL would sned Lorenzen Wright, Batista & Salim Stoudamire to POR...
If true, this trade makes little sense to me...Wright is on his last legs (probably expiring?), Batista I know nothing about and Salim is an undersized chucker who plays little defense...
Frankly, I'd rather have Haywood and Jarvis Hayes...

Re: POR\WAS\ATL trade rumor
That deal sucks for Portland. We already have Salim "Oh please God not another" Stoudamire. His name is Juan Dixon. Wright Sucks and has one more year on his contract, and Batista is a throw in that expires.
I would have rather kept Blake, Skinner and Ha.

Re: POR\WAS\ATL trade rumor
Doesn't seem like a good trade to make. Extra years of salaries to be paid to players not making our rotation?? Thanks, but no.

This trade does nothing for Portland, and why does Atlanta need yet another swingman?
I would take Haywood and Hayes and leave Atlanta out of it.

I'd rather throw in a 2008 pick and some salary filler and get one of their SF's like Williams or Childress. We'd probably have to get another team involved though. If we could suck it up and trade Jack...(GT grad) then we might be able to snag one of their young up and coming SF's

Re: POR\WAS\ATL trade rumor
Maybe the reporter messed it up and it's Jamaal to Atlanta, Wright, Salim and Batista to Washington and Hayes and Haywood to Portland

Re: POR\WAS\ATL trade rumor
I hope that this is not true.
Why we would do this, I have no idea.
Please don't. Please.
We BY FAR get the worst of this deal. Only way I see any silver lining is maybe there is a pick or two coming our way as well.

Re: POR\WAS\ATL trade rumor
Haywood may have had his last laugh in WAS but Magloire can't run that offense that they run any better...

Re: POR\WAS\ATL trade rumor
Batista is in the last year of his million dollar deal. He makes $661,238 this season.
Salim Stoudamire makes $729,000 this year, with a team option of $783,000 next year.
Lorenzen Wright makes $3,250,000 this year and $3,250,000 next year.
We're basically shedding 5,083,333 at the end of this season and keeping on Wright's contract.

So much for this deal being a possibility.

I just read the origin of the real GM story, and it is pure hypothesis

Re: POR\WAS\ATL trade rumor
I can't see Wright/Batista/Stoudamire fitting in here.
Wright is garbage. He is injured now, can't shoot from the line and is an average defender.
Batista is garbage as well and Salim is Dixon Redux.
Haywood and Hayes would be fine.
Haywood and Joel battle it out in practice to earn the right to back up Aldridge at the 5 and Hayes fits in nicely with Martell and Ime at the 3.

IF this deal were to take place, I smell another deal coming right behind it...
...why else would we be looking for depth at the 4?

Re: POR\WAS\ATL trade rumor
Atlanta will have a 31-35 2nd rounder, and a 18ish 1st rounder from Indiana.
I could see them throwing in their Indiana Pick if they land a top 3 pick in this year's draft (and end up keeping it).
If that were the case, I'd do this deal.

Re: POR\WAS\ATL trade rumor
Why don't POR & WAS just do Hayes/Haywood for Magliore? Forget Atlanta!
