Re: Looking ahead at potential draft day scenarios...
Draft talk and speculation is probably the best part of the boards. You never know who's gonna blow up? Wasn't Marvin Williams suppose to be a can't miss prospect? I swear there was people on this board complaining that we didn't keep Tyrus Thomas. Keep up the talk guys! Bring on Durant! Him and LaMarcus on the court together........watch out!

Re: Looking ahead at potential draft day scenarios...
marvin williams is about to blow up BIGTIME
nobody in their right mind is giving up a top 5 pick in this draft
i would`nt give up any 2nd round picks in this draft because with the dearth of bigmen available i feel that some talented GUARDS will fall much lower than they should,a smart gm will make the right moves

I'm with you. As a big fan of having multiple guys who can really pass and defend, Noah would be a tremendous addition. I see Phoenix comparisons as far as how they could push the pace and run teams ragged. Noah would also give the team a face that the national media would be able to identify with.

Re: Looking ahead at potential draft day scenarios...
I like Noah, but if we don't get Oden or Durant, then Brandon Wright would be my next choice. Depending on what happens with Zach, will depend on who I really want the Blazers to draft. Noah fits in with an up tempo style, but if zach is still hear next year it means we will play boring basketball again, and his skills wouldn't be as valuable to us as a good shooter from the wing would.

I've only seen Wright once, but he's a pretty obvious talent. While he seems a better outside shooter then JN, I don't see him as a wing. Since I'm always in favor of drafting the best player available and making trades down the line to balance out the roster, I wouldn't have my choice dictated by whether Zach is still with the team... I'm pretty sure that either he or Joel could land a starting quality 3 in a trade.
Mostly my comments on Noah were in response to Nate McVillain's post saying no one was giving him any love. I was just saying that I'd love to have him on the club.

Re: Looking ahead at potential draft day scenarios...
I like both B Wright and Noah, but I like Noah a little more. I am very impressed his how smart he plays. Noah adjusts very well to different defenders and moves very well all the time without the Ball. Both are very good on D but Wright does have more girth to help him guard the low block.
I have Noah ranked 3a and Wright 3b. They would both be great additions.
Here is my top 10 assuming all of the following declare:
1) Greg Oden
2) Kevin Durant
3) Joakim Noah
4) Brandan Wright
5) Spencer Hawes
6) Chase Budinger
7) Julian Wright
8) Al Horford
9) Yi Jianlian
10) Al Thornton
Honorable Mention:
Corey Brewer, Tiago Splitter, Marcus Williams, Hasheem Thabeet

Re: Looking ahead at potential draft day scenarios...
The thing that i wonder about is if any of the top 2 teams would be sucker enough to go for an offer of something along the lines of...
Randolph or other various talents besides roy and lottery pick #5-10
for #2 and trash old fart that isnt any good.
to me i think someone might do it simply because randolph is having a killer season and has proven he is a 20/10 almost every night. If you use the lottery pick it is based off of sheer speculation that the #2 or 1 is going to be an all star. Which isnt always the case.
look no further than the Kandy Man (#1), or Dunleavy (#3). Even Marvin hasnt displayed his prowess, nor has darko or barg.
just a thought. If a team needs a boost, randolph fills it and will get relief sooner than later.

Re: Looking ahead at potential draft day scenarios...
No. No team would ever, ever do that. Not im a million years. Not in this draft.
Whoever gets #1 or #2 in the lottery are the only teams with a chance at Oden and Durant.

Re: Looking ahead at potential draft day scenarios...
I'm hoping we can pull off a trade for one additonal lottery pick again also. Zach would be great trade bait. If we can have one more strong draft I don't think we'll be talking about draft picks (so much), anymore. The playoffs will be a hot topic though. I can hardly wait to see this team turn the corner.

Re: Looking ahead at potential draft day scenarios...
I think it's possible, but unlikely. My first reaction was, "Wow, that's a dumb question." But if you think about what Randolph can provide, as well as the fact that whoever we trade with would still be getting a pretty good pick out of it, it seems ridiculous, but possible.
My logic is that if the Texans can pass on Reggie Bush, then a team MIGHT be willing to get Randolph/pick for Oden/Durant.
