Re: Blazers' Second Half Record?
I think they'll go 13-27 in the final 40 games.
The Memphis and Golden State games worry me as much as the games against the league's elite. Our style just doesn't hold up in the fast break.

Re: Blazers' Second Half Record?
Harvey says 25 games. I'd say somewhere less than that .500 for the second half hopefully. 20 wins should be reasonable. I want to say that we can win 40+ games for the season, but ~35 seems right.

Re: Blazers' Second Half Record?
Portland finished the first half with a 15-26 record.
Assuming a trade doesn't get made, or the trade doesn't significantly upgrade the roster, I'd say Portland will finish with a very similar record, probably something like 12-29. That's no knock against the Blazers (indeed, I think Portland will become much more competitive in the second half).
But at some point, probably around mid-March, they're going to hit a slew of teams in playoff contention and who look upon their date with the Blazers as a chance to make up some lost ground. The question of 4th quarter execution will become a tired one on this board. Still, it'll be much more bearable than the dregs of last spring.
Things the team won't have to go through again:
- The loss of Ruben Patterson's production (Potentially losing Magloire will be less hurtful)
- Poor chemistry (Good atmosphere this year)
- Crap players getting minutes (We have Roy now, instead of Dixon manning the SG spot)
- The lack of a backup PF/C
- Ownership drama
- Players who don't give a crap.

Re: Blazers' Second Half Record?
I'm gonna say they win 41 of the second half-season games and finish with a record of 57-25.

And when, pray tell, are you going to actually say this?

Re: Blazers' Second Half Record?
I predicted 35 wins and I'm going to stick with that prediction.

I suppose now would be as good of a time as any.
1 win down, 40 more to go!

Re: Blazers' Second Half Record?
I voted for the least amount of wins because that's the best way to improve the franchise. We'll get there in a year or so, but we'll get there quicker and more powerfully with Oden or Durant

Re: Blazers' Second Half Record?
So I'm confused. Are we supposed to be voting for what we think is most likely or what we hope happens? I went with the 30 to 35 as the most likely but then as I scrolled down, can't say I disagree with MM about this being a decent time to lose. On yet another hand, though, I think there's value in this current team learning how to win together.
Ultimately I guess that the arguments for winning and losing are kind of wash for me, save that winning is more fun. Who knows, maybe Nightfly's prediction'll hold and they'll go on a 42+ game winning streak. That'd be okay.
