Possible Zach destinations
www.hoopshype.com says Orlando and NJ both want a big body. We already know Chicago, Houston and Miami do as well. Once Gasol is either dealt or taken off the market I think all of those teams will inquire about Zach.....or reinquire.
How about a package of Grant Hill and a number 1 pick for Zach and Magloire?
Richard Jefferson, filler and a number 1 pick for Zach
Deng, PJ Brown or Nocioni, PJ Brown and a future number 1 pick for Zach
Houston I have no idea other than picks
Miami as well, although Kapono and others along with picks might do it.
Anywhere else you can think of that Zach would fit? Probably needs to be a leastern conference team because of his style of play, and it probably needs to be a team with a star on it to help keep him in check. Also should be a team not worried about their image.

Re: Possible Zach destinations
Also, we might want to get back another big body if we're going to send out Zach AND Magloire.
We'd be left with LaFrentz, Przybilla, and Aldridge as our 4 and 5's.

But remember, this year doesn't really matter. You also forgot Travis. He can play the 4

Re: Possible Zach destinations
I believe Orlando owes thier 07 #1 to Detroit. I would think that Pau is going to generate alot more interest than ZBO, thus lowering ZBO's value. But a nice deal for sure would be deng. I wouldnt even need the pick in a deng deal.

Re: Possible Zach destinations
Yeah, I honestly think that if we deal Zach what we get back will depend on Gasol.

Makes sense and it might be a reason that nothing will happen in terms of a Zach deal this season.
If he keeps up this production he has a shot at the All-Star team.
If he continues to excel for the rest of the season, his value should be even higher this summer since it would dispel any questions of whether or not he could keep up this level of play consistently.
It would show that he is worth his contract or close...

Nowitzki, KG, TMAC, Howard, Duncan, Carmello. Now after reading that list has reality of Zbo not making the All Star game set in?

Brand, Boozer, Marion, Lewis, Odom as well hasoos. Keep in mind too that Zach didn't even finish in the top ten in fan voting. Shows his popularity around the league.

First of all McGrady is a guard, so scratch him off of the list.
KG and Duncan will probably be voted in, but there should still be 3 spots for guards, 3 for forwards and 1 for a center (or FC).
2 forward spots would definitely go to Carmello and Nowitski. After that, it's a battle I think between Josh Howard, Shawn Marion, Lamar Odom, Carlos Boozer and Zach Randolph.
If you look at pure production, Zach comes out on top, but obviously the team they play on will be a factor.
I'm not saying Zach is a shoe-in, but if he keeps dropping 30/10 games with any frequency, he'll get a long look...

Maybe not. If Pau goes to a team that then leapfrogs the other teams in the power rankings, the other teams may become desperate to re-establish their position by also making a deal. Especially if that team has a small window such as NJ/MIA. NJ is just getting killed by not having any interior scoring or defense. Miami can just rely on the refs to carry them to the tital I guess. Worked for them last year!

I am just wondering how you are thinking he is going to get in. You already listed 4 forwards, and possibly 6 who could beat him out, and IMO Josh Howard will get in, there is no question about that. If you watch games of other teams, he gets raved about constantly where ever he goes, and gets a lot of credit for Dallas positive W column.
No I think the reality is, Portland doesn't get an all star again this year, and the fact is, we really don't have any.

Re: Possible Zach destinations
I still say we should do everything in our power to try and trade Zach for Pau. Cut the rest of the league out of the equation.

Re: Possible Zach destinations
I don't see us dealing Zach. Low post scorers are a valuable commodity and I don't think we'd get equal value in return. I'd like to see us play Zach at the 4 and Aldridge at the 3. If we could get a center we'd be set.

As in the other thread.....Aldridge is not a 3. What is equal value for Zach considering his off court issues that come up every year. Is a player that can do 4-5 things pretty darn well as valuable as a player that does one thing very well? I say yes.
