I haven't seen anything from either player that would indicate they could to more than be role players off the bench.
I think the only spot that is solid is SG with Roy.

You need to see the big picture. The kid has been an inconsistent mess for his entire career here. The botched player was a microcosm of everything he's showed us so far. He makes a great move that is very athletic, but screwed it up with a bad decision yet again.
Meanwhile we pick up a guy like Udoka for free. Udoka isn't 1/2 as athletic as Outlaw but bombs open 3's and plays solid defense. He'll contribute to more wins than these inconstant high school phenoms ever will. Time to cut our losses.

Travis Outlaw is a loser. What's the spending cap on a loser? Portland will probably give him a fat 6 year contract, and spend the next 5 years trying to figure out how to get rid of him.

He's averaging 18 pts, 7 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocks per 48.
Even if that IS his development cap (which it clearly is NOT, considering the improvement he's made in the last year, and the fact that he just turned 22) that's not that bad.
Kick him off the team for one missed shot? Absurd.

I'd respect some of you trolls more if your hate was consistantly directed at one or two players. Y'all just hate whomever had a bad game.
Focus that hate trolls!

Just one more reason why "Per 48" stats are the biggest load of crap in basketball.

Ah...but focusing on ONE play in ONE game is NOT a load of crap? Now it makes sense.

Starters don't play 48 minutes per game. If he played standard starter minutes, 36 minutes this would be he stat line.
13.5 ppg
5.25 rebounds
2.25 blocks
Only impressive stat there is blocks.

Re: THAT'S exactly why Outlaw would suck in the dunk contest
I'm very dissapointed in some of "Blazer" fans tonight...seriously cool it. No one feels worse then Travis does. He missed a host big deal, thsi team ain't going anywhere anyways this year, so get over it. Not to mention it's his first extended action in over a month, so get off his back. How bout we go to your jobs and ridicukle you as you screw up...

How many guys have suddenly blossomed 4-5 years into their career? I can think of very few.

You see "an inconsistent mess" and I see "a kid who came out of high school, played 19 minutes his rookie year, lost a valuable mentor (Grgs) and gained a new coach with a brand new system that he's not used to."
Look, he's young, he's growing. He's not perfect, but he's certainly not a lost cause.
You can't compare Travis to Ime, either -- Ime is seven years older than Travis and has more experience (in the NBA? Not necessarily ... but around the world, he does).

Zach Randolph, Bonzi Wells, Rasheed Wallace, Jermaine O'Neal (though our impatience cost US that development)
The only notable 'potential' player who DIDN'T work out was Qyntel Woods (and arguably Miles)
What's your point?

Very selective reading. I said it was indicative of HIS ENTIRE CAREER HERE. Not just one play.
I think he'll be a good player someday. Too bad it'll be for an overseas team.
