Here's my fantasy...
Get the #1 pick, draft Oden.
Trade Zach for Joe Johnson.

I'm guessing you're forgetting my posted off-season fantasy of winning the lotto, drafting Oden, and working out the rest of the roster issues depending on whats offered, as thats pretty similar to yours... or do you think Pritchard has something over Pete Babcock to force a trade of Zach for JJ? Sort of how when Nash picked Telfair and was then reluctant to take the best player available (Chris Paul), I doubt Babcock will be all that receptive to putting Zach ahead of Williams or giving up his prize FA from just two off-seasons back. I know we're into fantasy mode and maybe we might suspend the interests of the other teams in said fantasy, but I'm trying to mix in some of reality's factors.
We're in complete agreement on one thing though... mediocrity sucks

Re: My offseason fantasy, what's yours? (draft, trades)
Get the #1 pick, draft Oden.
Trade Randolph and Jack for Luol Deng and the NY pick or to ATL for Josh Smith.
All of this happens while Pritchard is wearing leather.

1) Get Richard Jefferson...
Portland Trades
-Zach Randolph
-Lottery protected 2008 1st round pick
New Jersey Trades
-Richard Jefferson
-#15 pick in the 2007 draft
DRAFT DAY 2007
-Trade #6 to Seattle for #8 and #31(Oden, Durant, Wright and Horford are all gone by #5. After those four players the talent level of the next 5 best players is relativley equal. Grabbing the 31st pick gives us more ammo to pull out another 2006 like draft)
-Trade #31, #36 and Indiana's 2008 2nd rounder to Philidelphia for Denvers 1st rounder, #18.(The Sixers have many holes to fill so trade for quantity)
8th Pick: Roy Hibbert C (20 years old, 7'2, 275lbs)- Second best center in this draft. His footwork is great for a 20 year old giant, he is a intimidating defender and can rebound well. His speed is not great, but he has good quickness in the post. He can throw a nice outlet pass to initiate the break while also being a beast in the half court offense. Drafing him allows Aldridge to move to his natural position of PF and gives us a PF/C combo that is stronger and taller than nearly every other combo in the league. Defensivley, Hibbert and Aldridge would be a dramatic improvement over what we have now. STATS: 26.4mpg, 12.7ppg, 6.9rpg, 1.1apg, 2.5bpg, 67% FG, 69.8% FT, 1.2 TO's, 2.8 PF's
15th Pick: Corey Brewer SG/SF (21 years old, 6'9, 185lbs)- Potential lock down defender who is very athletic and developing a jumper. He is a total team player, and can play both SG and SF without loosing much effectiveness. Also makes some nice passes. This team has a blatant lack of peremiter defense, and Brewer is a near lock to make a impact on the pro level in that category. STATS: 28.4mpg, 13.1ppg, 4.7rpg, 3.1apg, 1.9spg, 47.5% FG, 71.4% FT, 31.1% 3pt[.9 of 3], 2.6 TO's, 1.9 PF's
18th Pick: Josh McRoberts PF/C (20 years old, 6'11, 245)- Might be an unpopular pick, but the Blazers can always use a talented big man. Very athletic and can play PF and spot minutes at C. He would be a nice change of pace guy when we take Hibbert out of the game. Would work very well with Sergio in the 2nd unit. STATS: 35.3mpg, 13ppg, 7.9rpg, 3.5apg, 1.2spg, 2.5bpg, 50.2% FG, 66.4% FT, 2.4 TO's, 2.5 PF's
41st Pick: Aaron Brooks PG (22 years old, 6'0, 160lbs)- Dan Dickau sucks. Brooks isnt ever going to be a starting PG, but might develop into a decent offensive spark off the bench. We lack that right now after dealing Dixon.
STATS: 36.9mpg, 17.5ppg, 4.3rpg, 4.3apg, 1.4spg, 45.5% FG, 84.3% FT, 40.1% 3pt[2.3 of 5.6], 2.5 TO's, 2.5 PF's
53rd Pick: Sumeuropeanguy- A future all star.
2007/08 Roster
PG- Jarrett Jack/Sergio Rodriguez/Aaron Brooks
SG- Brandon Roy/Martell Webster/Fred Jones
SF- Richard Jefferson/Corey Brewer/Ime Udoka
PF- LaMarcus Aldridge/Josh McRoberts/Travis Outlaw
C- Roy Hibbert/Joel Pryzbilla/Josh McRoberts
|
i really like this and i think NJ might part ways with Jefferson for Randolph. especially if vince opts out. this team would be solid. i would like to trade jack if possible cause when spanish chocolate is a starter JJ stock will go down. good job.

This may be the only way we unload dmiles or raefs contract is if we get the #1 pick and the #2 team DESPERATELY needs Oden..we could also get extra picks or a young stud from team #2 as well.

I've got a short attention span. I blame it on the public school system.

Re: My offseason fantasy, what's yours? (draft, trades)
Haven't gone through the whole thread, but how about Zbo and a draft pick for Rashard Lewis in a sign and trade deal?
Is Lewis worth a max contract? Some Seattle fans think not . . .

I think another team would need to be involved if we sent a PF to Seattle. Randolph would make Wilcox, someone they gave a reasonably sized contract to, redundant.

Re: My offseason fantasy, what's yours? (draft, trades)
My fantasy is that Kevin Durant hires the most powerful
agent in the biz, and tells him to force a trade to
the Trailblazers so that he can play with LMA and
Brandon Roy.
Blazers trade any non-rookie + our pick for Durant.
Not only would we be getting Durant, but a player who
really wants to play in Portland. Not that's a fantasy
Lineup:
Sergio
Roy
Durant
LMA
Pryz
That's a lineup that would rock!

That's not good enough. How about instead both Oden and Durant force a trade to the Blazers? Also, I am hired as President.
Lineup:
Sergio
Roy
Durant
LMA
Oden

In those are the rules, I've got to amend my posted wishful thinking. I'm still OK with winning the lotto and drafting Greg Oden, but this off-season he has a late growth spurt and sprouts another couple inches. Also I'd trade D.Miles for D.Wade plus the right to swap first round selections with the Bobcats forever.
Don't wake me.
