Doesn't make much sense, you'd more likely just sell the Blazers and keep Seahawk management as it is.
Unless, of course, you were planning to buy the Sonics

if he was selling the team, he's surely gone about it the very expensive way. As much as certain fans think that he's willing to sell the Blazers because he's "hated" in Portland (which is a stretch. He's probably not going to win any popularity contests, but the guy still is willing to dole out the money to get things done), the Trail Blazers are till his baby.
he might be giddy about the Seahawks right now, but he's a basketball nut far more than he is a football nut. There's a reason why he took the team off the market earlier this season/last summer..and it wasn't because he wanted to buy back the arena just to sell the team. It wasn't just because he wanted to dump about 100-150 million so he could sell the team for aabout 100-150 million more (maybe). He didn't buy a draft pick, ok 6 trades on draft day (that cost the team a goodly chunk of change over the course of the players careers) AND when replacing the GM, go and hire the assistant GM who orchestrated the whole thing (basically) to a 5 year deal. He didn't do all of that just so he could sell the team.
read between the lines folks.

There are semi-decent beers at the bars. The food joints only have bud/etc but the bars have decent beers. Although, the selection could certainly be improved.
Incidentally, I attended the Bulls/Blazers game at the United Center last week (I happened to be passing through Chicago that day). The beer selection and availability and prices were all much more satisfactory than at the Rose Garden. It was rather surprising in fact. If you took 1/2 the food outlets in the Rose Garden and replaced them with bars, you'd have the United Center.
One other observation - the crowd there was MUCH louder than the Rose Garden, but only when the scoreboard called for the fans to make noise. But when they saw the NOISE signs, boy, they responded.

Sure. That did occur to me, although I forgot it sometime between my 7th and 9th beers.

Presumably, they made him pay in cash this time.

Re: Allen buys back the Rose Garden
Maybe he can buy us a couple more picks this summer. 3 million each for a couple late 1sts, packaged together with the 2nds, and move up to snag a steal at 15-20.

Re: Allen buys back the Rose Garden
I think Olive is going a bit overboard using this photo. I think we can all agree that Paul is not a sexy sexy man, but this photo is clearly chosen because it shows Paul in a negative light. Using it to illustrate a negative story is probably fair game, but Oregonlive his used it to illustrate every story that mentions Allen for the past several months.

In all fairness, does a flattering photo of PA exist?
Well, maybe back in the bearded days...

Re: Allen buys back the Rose Garden
Speaking of Paul Allen's image, did anyone else notice how they modeled the nerdy guy in the Apple ads after him?
And speaking of that Apple ad compaign, does anyone else find it condescending? They put the slacker cool young guy Justin Long next to the nerdy Paul Allen mini-me so you can associate Apple with cool and PCs with nerds. It's so blatant, it makes me want to not buy a Mac.
