Re: Zach for Wallace?
"Wallace will likely opt out of his contract after this season, making him a unrestricted free agent. Bobcats managing partner Michael Jordan has called retaining Wallace and Emeka Okafor top priorities this season. Okafor is eligible for an extension under the NBA's rookie scale."
Here is the quote I referred to earlier . . . everywhere I look, it seems clear that Charlotte will do everthing they can to re-sign Wallace. Ironically, Bobcats are one of the few teams under the cap. If they didn't care about salary cap and got lucky in the draft, just imagine:
draft Oden or Durant, sign a star free agent for the max contract, then re-sign Okafor and Wallace for a large contracts under the Bird rights . . . I think they can do this. Now that's would be serious foundation.
Added:
Charlotte Bobcats' forward Sean May could have more on the line this summer than playing time next season. The Bobcats might draft one of the talented power forwards available, such as Florida's Al Horford or Joakim Noah, making the oft-injured May expendable.
May has played in just 58 of a possible 164 games in two seasons, and team president Michael Jordan likely won't have much patience for overweight players lacking durability
