Why not Bogut?
ok so i proposed Darko and got mixed reactions. but im gonna give it another shot eventhough this one might come under more intense scrutiny(sp).
Andrew Bogut
7-0
245
22 yrs old
as opposed to darko bogut actually went to college and gained that experience, i believe he went for 2 or 3 years.
he played out of position at PF last year so dont really pay attention to his offensive stats. his defense was ok last considering.
what was really amazing is that we got to see his passing skill last year.
this year he would have been a 15-10 guy but the amazing bucks didnt know how to use him. look at his game log he had some pretty impressive outings.
ofcourse this is only possible is they get the #1 pick....
ok tell me what you think.

Re: Why not Bogut?
Well it sounds good but at what price? I might part with Zach for Bogut. It would be a bit of a gamble but I think he could work along side Aldridge pretty well. I don't know that the Bucks would do that deal though. I'm not really sure we should do that deal for that matter.

Re: Why not Bogut?
I don't think they'll trade him. He's probably just as untouchable to them as Mike Redd.

i read something on yahoo (which isnt all that official) about they would take oden and try and dump bogut which didnt make sense cause he is only in his second year but i figured there is a reason they have always been bad.

Re: Why not Bogut?
I think it would take something like Martell Webster and our 2007 1st round pick to land Bogut. Thats a steep price, but I would actually think about it.

Re: Why not Bogut?
If they got oden maybe a Zach and Martell for Bogut trade would be possible.

Re: Why not Bogut?
I would love to see the Blazers make a push for Bogut, and I could see it happening if the Bucks were to land Oden. About the only trade possibilities that I can come up with are:
Dickau, Webster, 2007 first round pick for Bogut
S&T Outlaw, 2007 first round pick for Bogut
LaFrentz, 2007 first round pick for Bogut, Gadzuric

I think that Bogut and Darko being young Bigs with upside and Portland needing another quality Big is probably all thats being considered. Most here seem to project LA as more of a natural 4 then a full time 5 though truly his size/length falls right in between the two spots.
But as others have stated, unless they luck into the #1 and are to select Oden, I doubt very much that Bogut can be pried loose from the Bucks.

Re: Why not Bogut?
Bogut is under contract so that only way to obtain him is via trade.
I don't think Milwaukee would consider anything but the #1 or maybe the #2 pick for him. We don't have either (yet).

Re: Why not Bogut?
If the Bucks get Oden, then Bogut is gone to the highest bidder. If that happens, Portland should try hard to get him.

I don't know the team very well, but it seems to me the bar is high, but not that high. I don't think anyone thinks Bogut is or will be as good as Oden or Durant. If Bogut were in this year's draft, he'd probably fall to 3 or 4 (at least).
If there was someone Milwaukee was really hot for in that area, and we lucked into the 3rd or 4th pick, I could see a trade of our pick plus some of our many second rounders for Bogut. Maybe Webster instead of the second rounders, if they held out.
Would I want Bogut at that price? I don't know. I look at his game log and I see a couple of nice games, but I really don't see much there to excite me. He's a good passer for a center, but not much of a shot blocker and not a dominant rebounder. The few games I've seen him in, he's reminded me of Brad Miller. A good center, but the 3rd or 4th pick in a very good draft?
We got the two highest rated rookies last year, according to BNB's stats. We got Sergio for practically nothing. I'm inclined to see Pritchard work more magic in the draft than see us bow out with a trade like this.
If we wind up with the 8th pick and they'd want that pick and Webster for Bogut, I'd be happy with the deal. I don't think it'd happen, though.
