I concur doctor though I see a bit of Marion in his game too. If Portland gets the 3rd pick, I think BW is the obvious choice. Regardless of who eventually gets the picks he's about as much of a lock at 3 as Oden and Durrant are at 1 and 2. Dude is so quick and long, he should be able to get double doubles without having plays run for him. I see him projecting as a 2+ per game shotblocker as well... I'd be absolutely thrilled to see him in Red and Black.

Re: Brandan Wright declares for draft

No doubt. As Pritchard said, Lamarcus can play the 4 or 5, and possibly the 3. Roy can play the 1 2 or 3. That means we can pick the best player available and use it to plug a hole wherever we please.

this would give us Wright and possibly green or brewer.
not to be picky but there's a few things wrong with that:

1. obviously there's a good chance wright goes #3.

2. boston traded because they wanted telfair, not to dump salary.
dumping the extra year for lafrentz vs. theo was just a throw-in
to make the deal work.

3. even if someone else goes #3, odds are less than 1:10 that
pheonix will have the #4 pick. odds are either atlanta will get
the pick (top 3) OR pheonix will get bumped to 5-6. odds are
either memphis, boston, or milwaukee will be picking #4.

4. since we are over the cap pheonix can't dump
salary on us without taking equal back.

5. pheonix has no bad contracts to dump (unless you think
they overpaid for diaw, which is debatable).

6. most teams would value the #4 pick in this draft more
than a salary dump, so even if a scenerio were possible
we would have to throw in something good to make it work -
probably minimum sergio.

as fans we were REALLY spoiled last year - unfortunately there
is no realistic way we end up with two top 6 picks again this
year (short of trading roy and/or aldridge).

I agree. I'm not concerned with who will make Portland the best next season. I'm concerned with who will make Portland the best a few seasons down the road, when the team hopes to be hitting its championship-contention window. Wright has to be the pick at #3. Horford could be a useful player, even an occasional All-Star. Wright has the ability to be a superstar.

couldnt agree more. the only thing that i worry about with this team is if they could guard a real big like some that are still in the NBA
eventually it would be fine but it will take about 2 years before they fully bulk up.

Re: Brandan Wright declares for draft

and i just found out he's got a 7-6" wing span.
so just to review:
smothering defender
amazing scorer around the hole
freak athlete
possible superstar

If the Bobcats got the number 2 pic I wonder if they would trade Durant for Wright and change. Wright would be a better fit.

Re: Brandan Wright declares for draft

No one will be trading Oden or Durant for anyone not named Lebron or Dwight.
