Trade Talk - Jack, Battier
There is trade talk going on today between Rockets and Blazers.
Head/JL for Jack?
Jack/Filler for Battier?

Re: Trade Talk - Jack, Battier
This is BS. Why would either team trade Jack\Head ? They both are great young PG's for their team and I really don't see a Battier for Jack deal. Shane is way better.

Re: Trade Talk - Jack, Battier
I have to believe it's about Battier. He's the kind of guy Nate would love to have on this team. He's the kind of smart player that would calm down the youngsters.
Who for Battier? I bet Webs would be part of that deal. They need a SG not named Bonzi and Adelman's offense would work well for Webs.

Portland would trade Jack (and probably will) because we have Sergio. He is obviously better than Jack, or at least will be very soon with a little more experience. He will probably be getting 20+ minutes next year.
Jack is gonna be a solid PG in the league. He needs to improve his 3-ball, and stop making so many stupid mistakes. From what I've seen though, a lot of his mistakes aren't the typical rookie errors, they are just plain retarded. I think he's got a sub-par basketball IQ, as far as PG's go I mean.
Anyways, in conclusion, Jack is solid, but he's not great. Definitely expendable IMO.

Re: Trade Talk - Jack, Battier
I dont see us trading Jack unless we get a lotto pick in return.

Re: Trade Talk - Jack, Battier
Battier is blah, absolute blah. I'd rather we get Al Thornton or any of the top 5 SFs in the draft.

Re: Trade Talk - Jack, Battier
Battier doesn't excite me, but he does fill an area of need at SF, with good defense, passing, and the ability to hit open shots. We don't need a star at every position.

Re: Trade Talk - Jack, Battier
I'd be more than happy to take Battier. I think he'd fit in perfectly.

Re: Trade Talk - Jack, Battier
I wouldn't be against getting Battier here. A solid team guy and defender who can also hit the 3 ball.
I'd compare him to a better Ime Udoka. One of those role type players you see on all playoff/championship teams, I think. He may not have the star quality as a lot of the other SFs being mentioned, but he'd be a good pickup IMO

Re: Trade Talk - Jack, Battier
If they get Battier, then I could see them selecting a PF with any other first round pick they obtain. If they sent off Jack and Webster in the trade and signed Blake and resigned Udoka the team could look like:
PG: Blake/Rodriguez
SG: Roy/Jones
SF: Battier/Udoka
PF: Aldridge/(other draft pick)
C: Oden/Przybilla
If they resigned Outlaw, he could back up Aldridge as well. Otherwise, it's not looking too bad to me.

Head doesn't really play PG.
