good old Bill Walton

I was watching the halftime show of the Cavs/Heat game (dreadful matchup by the way) and Wilbon and Scott were talking about KG and Kobe being the top two MVP candidates so far. Walton suddenly chimes in and says something like, "Gotta put Brandon Roy in 3rd at least". That is paraphrased by me of course.....but I found it funny. Neither Wilbon or Scott even commented. They both had looks on their faces that said, "Stay away from this conversation!". They then changed the subject...hehe

good old Bill.

We're going to be getting a lot of network love from the big redhead in the years ahead. Especially once Oden ("the greatest future hall-of-famer in the history of mankind" lol) gets going.

It's nice to know he's still got a soft spot for the black and red. Must be feeling the mania. Can't break that nostalgia!

Re: good old Bill Walton

I don't think Roy belongs in MVP talks (yet), but if MVP means Most Valuable Player to their respective team, then Walton's comments aren't THAT far off base.

How many wins would we have without Roy? I wouldn't be surprised if we were something like 5-22, instead of 15-12. That makes Brandon pretty darn valuable to the Blazers.

Who are some other players in the league that if you removed them, their team would be 5-22 or have 10 less wins? Probably Lebron and Kobe. Who else? Probably NOT Nash, KG, Duncan, Wade, or Dirk.

Re: good old Bill Walton

he said something similar a week or two ago, I think he means MVP in the present tense, as in "right now."

So if Roy sucks next week, well...

Did you guys catch Jalen Rose saying "No No No" to Brandy Roy in the ASG and the Blazers in the playoffs on First Take this morning?

Re: good old Bill Walton

Walton called Roy a future HoFer earlier this week. Love his enthusiasm but then again this is a guy who called Jerome James a spectacular athlete, lol. I like Walton, he says some outrageous things but their funny as hell.

My favorite Walton moment was when Marv had just come back after his underwear scandal and he was doing a Bulls game with Walton. Billy boy made a comment, ON AIR about how Marv and Rodman could go shopping for womans clothing together or something like that. It was hilarious.
