I gotta Say
That I think New York is the best place for fatbo . Im Glad we ended up getting frye he is really starting to change my opinion about him. My favorite player is travis outlaw. I also think Zbo takes to many shots and has no deffense and turns the ball over almost 2 times per game. What do you think?

Re: I gotta Say
Yeah he did flourish but boy did he cause heaps of trouble. I also think the way zach plays might contribute to a team playing more of a selfish basketball. I do not think he is a team player and I also Think that B.Roy and LA both recommended they trade zach asap.

Re: I gotta Say
Thanks since I am a honest man I must say its not original. I saw it someplace I think on the oregonlive blazer forum. I hate zbo (no offense to people who like him) I am glad he got sent to the one of the most crappy places to be a nba player right now.

Re: I gotta Say
Speaking of selfish players, I can't imagine 2 rookies demanding that the team's star be traded. If true, it would diminish my respect for the punks as prima donnas. What is your source?

Sounds like something Jason Quick would make up in his blog to justify his own personal prejudice.

Re: I gotta Say
Seeing ZBo gone and our offense suddenly flourish and us passing the ball and playing how we've always wanted to see the Blazers play makes me warm and fuzzy. If Roy and Aldridge went to Nate and demanded ZBo be traded, I would commend them for their foresight. That just shows me that in their first season, (if it was them and if it happened) Roy and Aldridge were more respected that Zach The Black Hole was.
At this point, it doesn't matter to me who wants what. What matters is what Kevin Pritchard thinks is the best for the team. Zach would have been gone no matter what.
Bravo!

Re: I gotta Say
In all honesty, people thought the zach trade shorted us. That is rediculous.
Randolph + Fred Jones trade for pretty much Jones, Frye, Aldridge more playing time and development (which right now he is almost as good as randolph, better imo because he is unselfish and doesn't kill chemistry or take too many shots and can dunk anything around the rim) and also we unload a huge contract.
I mean come on, that trade is a no brainer, a GREAT trade for portland.

It is called leadership and star power. Brandon Roy is already a better player than Zach Randolph. Roy knew what the issue was, and he spoke his mind. He was also one of the first players to tell Randolph where he could stick his loud mouth. I guess I don't understand why you would have a problem with someone finally addressing the elephant in the locker room. Everyone knew that Zach hurt the offense, played weak defense, and was an idiot off the court. The problem was that management for a while was convinced they could make it work. Brandon simply said that it couldn't work because Zbo was unable to play the type of basketball that would put us on the right path. In terms of sources, this has been out in the media for sometime now. Do some research, and you will find it.

I know. It came out in Quick's blog, where he's allowed to mix opinion with fact, and we can't tell the difference. There are no witnesses. Assuming Quick didn't just make it up, he must have asked questions until he provoked the answer he wanted to hear.
It's similar to Canzano claiming that Sheed threw a ball at Boom Boom the length of the court, as Boumtje-Boumtje practiced free throws with his back to Sheed. Soon the story evolved to the ball hitting Boom in the groin. Either the ball followed a JFK magic bullet trajectory, or Boom's groin is unusually located.

You might be right, you could be 100% correct. Does it matter? For instance I have read that Jamal Crawford tried to smooth things out, but then I have also read things like this:
AllHipHop.com: What’s your take on Randolph? They say he has his problems in Portland, and coming to New York this is bright lights and a big city.
Jamal Crawford: First off I’ve known Zack for a while and then Brandon Roy is one of my best friends in the world. He played with Zack this last year and he loves Zack. He said he pretty much got a bum wrap. He’s loyal to his friends, these are the friends he had since he’s grown up. But I think Zack kinda needed a change of scenery and there’s no brighter stage than here in New York. I think everything a person does is under a microscope, but I think that would help make him more responsible and kind of sway him away from different things.
http://allhiphop.com/stories/lifesty.../18750877.aspx
Then you get some opinion like this
http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2007/...t-z-bo-traded/
I guess we will never know the actual truth, but in the end Zach Randolph is no longer a Blazer, and his time in Portland will not be remembered because it they never did anything. The way history will go will be similar to the past, we went from Early 90's Blazers to the 2000 Blazers, and now it will go from the 4th quarter in LA to the Playoffs in 2007.
