Re: Would Redd be a good match for the Blazers?
I'd give them a package of Jack, Webster, and Green for him in a quick second. He'd be better than anyone we could possibly get with the cap space.

Re: Would Redd be a good match for the Blazers?
I'm a little surprised by the 50/50 of wanting or not wanting Redd. This guy can shoot, and did it well with limited shots with Team USA over the summer.
It makes me wonder what player then would be a good fit that's realistic, and not named LeBron or Kobe and etc., that we would be able to get as a free agent when the time comes.

Do you think that the Bucks would be willing to do any of the trades listed so far?

Re: Would Redd be a good match for the Blazers?
If Jones sticks around, I don't see a reason to do it. Redd is basically Jones who is closer to a number 1 option, and as a result gets more points. Minus the defense.

Re: Would Redd be a good match for the Blazers?
I like Redd alot although he is overpaid and has a large contract I think Roy and Redd would work vary nice. Chris Paul is a vary nice player and I don't think the Hornets will be able to keep him. Portland is becomeing more of an attractive place for players. So I don't think it's as big as pipe dream as some and I do beleive that KP has a close eye on him after all he wanted to draft him . My only question is if the Blazers want Roy to be the future PG then why Chris Paul or any other PG?

Dang, you're right. I guess we'll just settle for someone mediocre like LeBron.

Re: Would Redd be a good match for the Blazers?
OMG redd may be one of the 5 most overrated/overpaid players in the entire league. he scores a lot because he takes a lot of shots, but he is only an average scorer efficiency-wise, and he isn't a particularly good passer or defender. rudy fernandez may have a lot higher ceiling as an all-around player (wouldn't take much).
redd would be a step backwards in every way for this team.

Re: Would Redd be a good match for the Blazers?
More and more I'm thinking that we're not gonna have cap space in 2009. The guys I figured we'd end up dumping to get enough under the cap for a max contract are now looking like keepers. And even if we did have cap space I'm not sure there's gonna be anybody that great available.
So maybe a deal like LaFrentz and a couple promissing young guys (I'm specifically thinking of Outlaw and Sergio) for a good, but not great, player like Michael Redd would be a good move.
It would be pretty kick *** to have a team of...
pg- Brandon, Blake
sg- Redd, Rudy, Jack
sf- Webster, James Jones
pf- Aldridge, Frye
c- Oden, Przybilla
...for the forseeable future. Those guys would be together for the next 5-10 years depending on how long Redd keeps playing. I'm saying they'd win at least 5 championships.

Re: Would Redd be a good match for the Blazers?
i would NOT package Trav in a deal..not many teams have an athletic, clutch experienced 23 years old who LOVES coming off of the bench. He just has too many intangibles to trade him.

Re: Would Redd be a good match for the Blazers?
I would definitely consider doing this trade. I would be reluctant to get rid of Outlaw or Jones, however if we could complete the trade by giving up a first round, raef, Webster and another piece like taurean, kopp, or jack i would be fine with it.
Really, when you think about it Redd at this point in his career is a best case scenario for an end result in Martell. I dont see Martell ever surpassing what Redd is capable of now.

Re: Would Redd be a good match for the Blazers?
I'd trade Raef, Jack and a 1st round pick in 2008. Don't know if that deal would look good to the Bucks, but the Sonics traded Ray Allen away for Jeff Green.
Roy/Rodriguez/Blake
Redd/Rudy
Jones/Outlaw
LA/Frye
Oden/Pryzbilla
Our championship "window" may open much sooner than most people thought. But I think Prichard would be weary of tinkering with the team while it's playing so well.

Martell is a lot more active than Redd ever was. If he doesn't shoot well, he at least puts forth effort to rebound and defend. I'm not saying he's superb at either, but it's not like he's a one-trick pony.

Re: Would Redd be a good match for the Blazers?
The Bucks are losing, but they aren't desperate to dump the #8 scorer in the NBA. They are much more likely to deal Mo Williams, Charlie V or Charlie Bell. If we wanted to get any of them w/o giving up any of the big 3, that's much more realistic.
