Vote for Nash, you could make Roy an All-Star!
The only way Roy makes the all star game is if Nash is voted in over McGrady. The coaches will not pick McGrady over Roy but they will definitely pick Nash over Roy. If Nash is voted in then Roy has a chance, so vote for Roy and vote for Nash!

Good point. How many guards will there be on the All Star team? 5? Kobe, Nash, Paul, Parker, & Manu/Roy/Baron/Jackson/Deron.
It doesn't look good for Roy. Oh, I forgot about Josh Howard. It's really competitive. If we make good on my 36-16 prediction, it'll still be close, I think.

It's brutal competition.

I would have a real problem with three Spurs being on the team. Take one of either Parker or Manu, but if both make it over Roy (assuming the stats and wins stay the same) that would be ridiculous. Manu trails Roy in every important offensive category and is not the primary option.
With that, it comes down to Roy versus either Baron Davis or Deron Williams, and if Roy can keep his team ahead of the Jazz and Warriors, he should be an All-Star.

Yep, me too. At this point, it seems that Roy making the All-Star team will be due to an injury by a player picked ahead of him. That' no slight to Brandon, either. The West is just that good.

Re: Vote for Nash, you could make Roy an All-Star!
Yeah, I remember hearing the Roy all-star talk and the only way it will happen is that AFTER the All-Star reserves are announced, one of them gets hurt. Then the West All-Star coach gets to decide by himself on who replaces the injured player (if a big man gets hurt, they can still add a guard instead).
In my mind, here are the guards above Roy:
PG: Steve Nash, Chris Paul, Derron Williams, Baron Davis, Allen Iverson
SG: Kobe Bryant, Kevin Martin, Manu Ginobili, Tracy McGrady,
Then you're talking about Roy being in consideration. But if he tears it up in January and February then it's not out of the question as an injury replacement.

I don't know, when Baron in healthy he's a top-5 type of player. Williams is also very good.

Huh. Maybe I'm not thinking about this right but shouldn't the All-Star game (and the voting that goes into it) be about trying to get the best players there, regardless of which teams they play for?

No, it's about China getting TMac's non-all star level butt and his teammates on the AS team. Battier and Scola with more votes than Roy?

Re: Vote for Nash, you could make Roy an All-Star!
not every single person in china has access to the internet. what's your excuse for dallas players getting more votes than blazers?
how about the fact that houston and dallas both have larger populations than portland?

Re: Vote for Nash, you could make Roy an All-Star!
Kevin Martin above Roy? Please, may I have some of what you're sipping?
Tracy McGrady? How many games has he played?
Manu Ginoblili is a reserve. Most likely 6th man of the year, but still a reserve. Deron Williams and Baron Davis play on teams with worse records, what puts them ahead?
Do you mean those guys are ahead in votes? If that is true, OK, but ahead of Roy as far as being deserving? No way.
I'll give you Nash, Paul, Iverson, and much as I loathe him, Bryant.
