Anyone know when the field will be selected?

Re: 3-Point Shootout
If Jones does not get invited... i will be upset. That is almost as bad a snub as Dennis Dixon not being invited to teh Heisman thing

Re: 3-Point Shootout
Jones deserves to be there and I'm sure that he'll get an invite. Nothing to worry about. More to think about is beating Jason Kapono, who has been practicing to defend his title. Lots of players adjust their shot (from jump to set) for the 3-point contest, so it isn't always the best measure of shooting.

Dixon not winning the Heisman was a crime, he was the best college football player this past season.
But I think Jones has a legit shot to win the 3 point shootout if invited.

Re: 3-Point Shootout
Jones needs to start hitting threes in games. We won 13 in a row because he was hitting like crazy. It's no coincidence that we're struggling now that he's in a slump.

Re: 3-Point Shootout
Jones is a career 40% shooter from beyond the arc. I'm wondering if he's just slumping or if he's regressing to the mean.
In other words, is he REALLY one of the NBA's best 3-point shooters, or is he just pretty good?
I'm a little afraid to find out, honestly.

Re: 3-Point Shootout
The percentages are coming back to normal for James, which really is a shame. I bet he's frustrated as hell right now. We need to have either Martell or James hitting their three-point shot to open things up for Brandon, Travis and LaMarcus.
If Martell or James aren't hitting, we're going to struggle to score points with teams packing the middle.

Re: 3-Point Shootout
Am I the only one who doesn't want him to participate? Like the HR derby for baseball, any contest like this can mess up your shot and mechanics. You can't shoot 30 balls in 1 minute with a normal shot, and sometimes players regress after playing in this game in part IMHO because their mechanics got a little screwy.

Re: 3-Point Shootout
Shooters go through slumps, and he's still #2 in the league. As for his history of shooting percentages, I know that last year he got messed up by synthetic basketball and shot much better once the leather one was reintroduced. Anyways, I don't think it's too much to worry about. He's obviously somewhat streaky, as is every player, and I'm sure he'll turn it around.
50% 3PT over the course of half a season is NOT a stretch of good shooting that can be dismissed easily but a 3-5 game slump.

Re: 3-Point Shootout
Is it my imagination, or did Jones' shooting cool off dramatically when he stopped wearing the knee brace? I haven't seen enough of the recent games to know for sure...
