Re: Should we stand pat
I dont think we will make the playoffs if we dont make a trade, the West is to good and the Blazers have been overachieving. They are a .500 team, and will end the year just above that mark and wont make the playoffs with the team they have now. That being sad, to trade, yes or no, is impossible to say cause we dont know what the offer is. I would say dont trade but if they is an offer thats greatly in our favor then we would be stupid not too take that offer, but I believe thats why KP makes the decisions, not MARIS, and thank god for that.

Re: Should we stand pat
If the right deal comes along (ie one that clearly makes us a better team in the long term), jump on it. Making the play-offs this season is a lower priority.

Re: Should we stand pat
I think you obviously make a trade if it improves the team for the future, the outlook for this season should not be a factor in any deal. I only want KP thinking long term.
As a general rule I think it is best to make your deals in the offseason. As KP said, we'll be much more aggressive in the summer. But if a team offers a deal that clearly upgrades the roster than you have to take it.

Re: Should we stand pat
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT STAND PAT!!!!!
We're looking at an opportunity to win championships for the next TEN YEARS when Oden becomes our defensive rock and our low post offense. Rudy F will provide yet another offensive weapon next season.
If we do nothing - we probably lose Jones to free agency (because he'll have to decide if there is PT for him on a team with Webster, Outlaw, Rudy and Miles at SF), and we face a MUST-TRADE this summer to make room for a first-round pick, or we cut Green or McBob.
It makes more sense to me to explore trades NOW - and try to create a better team for next year - regardless of what it does to our first-round and out playoff chances. Personally, I don't care about making the playoffs this year - I want to see next year's team as soon as possible. But that's me!!

Re: Should we stand pat
The choices didn't quite fit for me, so I interpreted "yes" (trade) as being equivalent to "don't completely rule it out." If a good trade comes along, you do it. Defining 'good' is the tricky part, of course.

Re: Should we stand pat
I have probably been the biggest "TRADE FOR HARRIS!!!" posters since the rumors started. But deep down I feel like maybe it would be a mistake to make a trade and break up the chemistry.
Our guys are fine. They are all very good. They are just young and there is nothing you can do to replace experience in the NBA. You can have all the skill in the world with players under 23, but I still think a team of regular vets would beat them.
GO GIANTS!!!

Re: Should we stand pat
We should make a trade if it makes our team better when we want to be better (2-3 years from now, championship contenders).
A team should always make a deal if it improves their chances during their window.

Re: Should we stand pat
To me, chemistry is an important issue, but one for Pritchard...not terribly productive for fans to factor in, because we don't see anywhere near enough to judge it. We don't see locker room and practice interactions, only what is on the floor in games...where all the players are aware thousands of eyes are upon them.
Debating the talent aspect of it, whether playing styles of players match up and whether the player's abilities are a team need...those seem like things fans can have an informed opinion on. Chemistry is pretty unknowable. In Pritchard I trust, I guess, for that.
