Should we stand pat
With all the trade talks out there I was wondering if this was
just a bunch of what ifs, or do you really think this team needs
to make a move now, that will put us in right position to go deep
in the playoffs next yr...
I think we should wait until 20gms into next season before moving
any of our 10man rotation..

Re: Should we stand pat
Trade if the deal is good, stand pat if the deals being offered aren't worth it. Can't choose a poll choice because it matters which players in and which players out.

That's why i made this poll... We are assumeing that Oden/Rudy
shows up and produce, and Jones is still here...Do we make a trade
based on those assumptions or do we wait and see..The players
involved shouldn't matter.. any trade is assumed to make us better
otherwise why do it..Remember whitsitt? he just had to keep tweaking
it...he should have just let it grow the last 1-2yrs not mess with-it..
I just want to find out who wants to let it grow and how many want
a instant fix

Re: Should we stand pat
Make playoffs this year, and wait until the off-season to make a trade.

Re: Should we stand pat
I would approve of a trade which helped us over the long run; for example, trading several redundant players for a stronger player. A trade like that might help in the present also, but I wouldn't call it an instant fix.

Re: Should we stand pat
Unless an absolute steal of a deal presents itself, let the guys play it out. It builds character.

Re: Should we stand pat
If Pritchard can upgrade the team for the long-term, he should make a trade. If he can't, he should stand pat.
No, really...I truly believe that.

See these are the posts I can't stand. You could say to do that every year just to get the best player in the draft but whats that really going to do for your team? It's not really going to make your team better even though it may look better on paper becouse your team really will have no experiance

Re: Should we stand pat
Kind of a confusing poll. The Yes/No trade options are not comparable to the 3rd (Playoffs), since the the 3rd option should be the goal, not the means.

Re: Should we stand pat
I think we should stand Pat in front of the blackboard and not let him out until he writes "I will not call Portland the worst team in the league while my team did not even reach double digits in wins" 300 times.
Oops. Wrong thread.

Re: Should we stand pat
Standing Pat = Trading 2 people for zero.
We have a 10-man rotation. Next year we will
have a 10-man rotation. Oden , Rudy In, 2 out.
If we get nothing for those 2, it's a lost opportunity.

Re: Should we stand pat
I'm sorry about the confusion on the 3rd option..
It should have been, make the playoffs even if the
trade is just to rent a player for a yr or 2..
Wizmentor... I can see your point about adding 2 people
can be losing 2 for nothing..I just think we need to
see Rudy and Oden play first and then decide what 2
are not needed. If jones opts out and Rudy takes more
money to stay in europe we no longer have a problem
