Re: Game Thread: Blazers at Pacers
nice job on the count, yeah, i picked the worst possible time to get more active, huh? had to pass the time during timeouts i guess.
"this axs31 guy" though have been lurking around since the fanhome.com days and the ensuing exodus to here. wonder if you remember that, hispaniccausinpanic. seems like ages ago. lost my login name here sometime after 2003, haha... during the depression era. the 31 in my nick actually refers to bassy telfair, can u believe that?
don't underestimate posters with post counts under 100, no shame in not posting 5,000 of the same irritating redundant stuff, me thinks. main reason i never post is because i always see some posts perfectly summing up my opinion.

Re: Game Thread: Blazers at Pacers
I was actually laughing out loud during this game about how pathetic we look. We're in DEEP trouble if we can't win without Roy because there are going to be times when he's out with injury.

Re: Game Thread: Blazers at Pacers
This game was laughable!!! Pros should not be this bad for the kind of money they are getting paid.
Roy/Oden and Outlaw the rest are trade bait in my eyes. This is a game where Webster,Frye,Sergio, Jack and Blake should have run Indi into the ground. Not only did our young guys get beaten, outhustled and humiliated on the boards they showed no heart the whole game and made Jeff Foster look like an allstar! SAD!
NBDL is how they looked!

Re: Game Thread: Blazers at Pacers
It's remarkable how bad our team is without Roy. Aldridge is the only one that can seem to play well without Roy.
Travis has been a big disapointment these past 2 games. Martell was decent today, but stunk in Detroit. Jack played okay today, but really needs to work on his turnovers.
I was hoping someone on our team could step it up with the absence of Roy, but our team has looked like a joke these last 2 games.

Re: Game Thread: Blazers at Pacers
I would like to have 1 coach in 12 years that actually has an offense in mind when taking over the job in Portland. Dribble, Dribble and chuck before the time runs out is not an offense. It is the same muck they were running 3 coaches ago with the same results.
The PACERS are not a good team and we allowed them to hang around a game that they should have lost by 25. I don't think any other playoff team in the west would have even had their starters in by the beginning of the 4th cause they'd be that far ahead. Anyone disagree with that?

I don't think anyone will disagree. But I think if you said "Portland isn't a playoff team without Roy", nobody would disagree with you either, and that was the situation here too.
Off the top of my head, the Nuggets (Minus Carmelo and Iverson), the Suns (minus Steve Nash), the unnamed team (Minus Kobe, pre-Gasol), and the Mavericks (minus Dirk) could have easily had very similar problems in the same situation. That's just from the West.
Yeah this game sucked (and they looked totally lost out there tonight!), but PDX was missing two important players. That's without even bringing up the other factors (road, back to back with late 1st game), because I don't think those factors should have stopped them from winning if they were prepared.
But let's not compare the PDX team out there tonight to playoff contenders, unless those contenders are in a similar position... it's much harder to predict then.
Worth noting that I fully believe that at least half the teams listed above would have likely won anyway. Just saying. I'm not convinced this loss tells us that much about the team that we didn't already know.

Re: Game Thread: Blazers at Pacers
There was this big question during the Blazer's winning streak . . . Are the Blazers for real?
Well if for real means are they a playoff team this year, I think the answer is clearly no.
The Blazers are a young promising team, but I don't think they are anything more than that right now.

I've got to think that McRoberts kid from Duke could have gotten us a few defensive board and 110% hustle in his home town infront of his folks, why didn't he play with such lethargic play on our roster?

I asked the same question aloud at least 4 times in the second half. I mean at that point, could it hurt? Nate could tell him that he has no problem if he ends up with 4 or 5 fouls, he just wants to see hard, scrappy play, and see how he responds.
Argh.

I haven't seen one person here "fall off the bandwagon". People are allowed to be frustrated after a tough loss, while still supporting the team. (One of those lessons some other team's fans could learn...)
