It's unlikely his current team will let him go due to injury concerns to TJ Ford but Jose Calderon is what this team needs. He's always in control and can score. He's a true PG and is a leader. As a starter for the Raptors he's averaging 14 ppg 10 apg and rarely turns the ball over. He's a FA this summer and it would be much more realistic to go after Jose than it would Chris Paul, who's a flat out pipe dream.

I would love to pull half of the Spanish National Team here, but I think Toronto would be crazy not to pay him as much as he wants. They have a good thing going over there, minus one banger under the basket. If Colangelo stays the course they'll be a very good team before long.

And if only ifs and buts were candy and nuts, every day would be christmas ... I love Calderon's game but there's about a snowball's chance in hell of Toronto letting him go anywhere; Brian Colangelo is one of the savviest GM's in the whole league and he loves his Euros.

At this point, minus some major deal in some kind of 3-1 trade for guy like Devin Harris (doubtful) I'm starting to think more and more that KP is going to use his stock-pile of picks and try to leap frog up into the top of the draft and attempt to snag a PG of the future. Likely Blake will remain our starter for the next year or so as the new guy gets integrated and learns the NBA.

Then again I'm just speculating and have about as much inside information as the night janitor for the rose garden -- much less actually.

Jose would be an excellent piece on our team. Tough to get him though.

Having a great nucleus in place MIGHT be our only calling card to get some like him.

I'd love to get Calderon. He couldn't miss in that game where we beat them at the Rose Garden. They were so efficient in the first three quarters of that game. I was impressed.
