True. I think the Celtics becoming instant NBA royalty has something to do with my disdain for them.
The crowd wants their Chalupas.

Re: Celtics vs. Blazers Game Thread 2-24-08
I'm out. I'll give the Blazers all the credit in the world today. They clearly weren't intimidated by the Celtics. Unfortunately they lost their All-Star, shot poorly after the first quarter, and got jobbed by the refs.
I sure hope Roy will be ok. We've been playing pretty poorly, it's going to be a LOT worse if Roy is out an extended period of time.

The NBA is a joke. Total bias. Totally rigged. Unwatchable.

Re: Celtics vs. Blazers Game Thread 2-24-08
I have to say I don't have that awful "I wanna puke" feeling I had two nights ago; the blazers played pretty well against a solid defense, and were hard nosed. I think this showed me that LMA is going to be a force some day from the inside and the outside.
Sucks to lose, but them's the breaks.

I'd have to say, we definitely need better play from our guards and Webster.... Everyone else seemed to be doing what they were supposed to. Hell even Raef was looking good.

So far, the biggest disappointment for me this year (outside of our, what seems to be, annual late season swoon) is the poor play from Blake, Jack and Webster.
Those 3 have stunk this year for the most part. And of those 3, only 1 should stay next year (and be that as a backup).

Re: Celtics vs. Blazers Game Thread 2-24-08
Looking at the schedule and when factoring in how the Blazers have been playing and the potential loss of Roy, I'm going to say the Blazers will only win 7 more games this season. The schedule is pretty brutal, especially April. 7 wins put this team at 36 wins and in good lottery position.
Looking at it 7 wins doesn't seem like enough, but at this point it is certainly possible.

KG is a 2nd tier star? Really? After taking a horrible Boston team to the best record in the NBA? Exactly who is desperate for attention here?
|
yes, i said in my opinion for one. And wtf are you talkin' about, taking a horrible boston team to the best record in the NBA. Are you crazy? they were a completely different team last year. Peirce Allen and KG are there. They now have Posey, Glenn Davis, and many more. It is a completely different team.
And no, i don't think he is a first tier star. Lets see, he is on Minnesota and never gets out of the first round. Then he goes to a loaded Boston team, talks trash, get they are 13-8 in their last 21 games, and he is averaging 18.8 and 9.9 rebounds a game. So yea, i don't consider him a top tier star. LeBron and Kobe blow him out of the water. Same with Howard, who if he was playing with Allen and Pierce, would be doin' even better.

Just thought it was a random comment and really just an attack on a guy who put up 15 points in the half. I guess I posted my reply in the "heat of emotion."

Outlaw isn't the smartest player in the league at all, we know that. We had 17 seconds left, we got a rebound, Aldridge kicked it back to him and he took a contested jumper at the free throw line and didn't hold for the last shot, that was what i was talkin' about.
i'm not talkin' about his game. He played awesome tonight, another reason why i always am on his side.

I'll give the blazers credit. They're going to lose, but it's not because of lack of effort. This may just be the worst officiated game I've seen all year.
|
a couple months ago, the game in Boston was very very very bad also.

Re: Celtics vs. Blazers Game Thread 2-24-08
Just got back from the game...
What's with all the Celtic bandwagoneers? (hey buddy, where were you last year? yeah, that's what I thought...)
Basically, the Blazers lost this game because they had no one to fill the void after Brandon Roy left. Blake played solid, Jack had a few decent moments but also made some egregiously bad plays, Webster was non-existent until the game was out of reach. Aldridge and Outlaw played very well... Outlaw scored a lot and Aldridge neutralized Garnett. But it wasn't enough - needed one more big performance, and without Roy, there was no one to deliver.

You are odd, and frequently off-base.

odd? probably. off base? not really. Aldridge has played awesome since the break. Roy has been bugged with an ankle and the flu, he has been off lately.
And i already explained why i don't think KG should talk.
